Love Interests

Chapter 1

Riley's POV:

Anna and I had just finished Humanities class with Mr. Rogers and were on our way home when we were stopped by a group of our friends who were headed to their next class of the day. Melissa, a girl we had met in our Biology class freshman year, came up to us. "Hey, are you guys hosting a party tonight for the game.?" she asked. Anna said "Of course we are, it's a Friday after all and they are playing the Bruins. I'm just so upset that we couldn't get any tickets to this one." Everyone in our group nodded knowing just how upset she was knowing we all were too. 15 minutes later we said goodbye to them, only to be met by the boys of the BC hockey team. "Hey girls whats going on?" said Derek, the captain and left wing of the team. "Nothing just heading home after a long day of classes. All I want right now is a big cup of coffee and some ice cream before doing some homework before the Dallas game. How about you guys? Heading to practice?" I replied. "Yeah we play NYU tomorrow, it's gonna be a good game you girls going to come?" asked Joe, the right wing and my best friend other than Anna. I met Joe my freshman year when we both had English Lit class. Much like Anna and he and I hit it off right away and became almost immediate friends. "Of course we are you boys are our 3rd favorite team." I said "Hey that hurts." Joe said. "Sorry it's the truth you wouldn't want me to lie right to your face do you?" I replied. "No, but your a jerk." "Thank you I try" we playful banter for the next few minutes before Anna gets a text from her parents saying that they had stopped at our house to give us a package and left it at the front door. We say goodbye to the team before heading to my black mustang. Yes I said mustang. It was a birthday/ graduation present from my ex-boyfriend whose parents were lawyers. We broke up the summer before my sophomore year in college because I saw him with another girl, she used to be good friends with me too. Anyway, as we get into the car I head towards the house and about 5 minutes later Anna final speaks. "you know that all of those boys love us right." "Yeah I know but just think about it, we are two really hot amazingly smart girls who love Hockey and Football, and I own a mustang. What more can they possibly want?" "True true" We both laugh as we pull into the driveway to find a medium size box sitting on our front porch. As we get out of the car we notice a note on top of the box: Anna and Riley, we hope you love this present, sorry it was late Riley and Anna I know your birthday is in a month but I hope you don't mind it a little bit early. Your Aunt help us out a bit too. Love always, Mom and Dad
