Chapter 21

Jamie's POV:

We had just finished dinner and were on our way home and I noticed that Anna was looking a bit tense. Being the kind gentleman that I am I went over and started to rub her shoulders. It was then when she started to let her tears fall and I had no idea why. We got to the house and called out to Riley and I walked into the kitchen to see Anna crying with a note in her hands. I told Tyler to go look upstairs and see if he could find Rile and I Walked over to the counter and saw a note with my best friend's handwriting on it. I opened the letter and began to read it.

Dear Chubs,

I know that me leaving is a bit of a surprise for you and I hope that you aren't mad at Anna for her lying to you because that was what I asked her to do. I left for a little while and I don't know when I will be back but I can promise you this won't be the last you see of me.I will ask of you one thing, don't ask Anna where I am because it's best for everyone to not know where I am. I want you to know that I will be cheering on the Stars from where I am and please don't let Tyler do anything bad. I want you to know how much I appreciate you all and that I love you all very much. If you want to mail me letters, which I know you won't, give them to Anna she knows my address and I promise you that they will make there way over here. I hope this doesn't ruin our friendship.

No this can't be true she can't leave us, Tyler, Anna. I couldn't hold in my tears anymore so I ran outside and sat on the front steps and started to yell to the skies. "Why do you have to do this to me Universe. I promise I will score more goals or do whatever it takes to get her back." I was heartbroken and I couldn't imagine what Tyler was feeling, especially what he told me before he left to get the girls.

A few hours earlier:

I was talking to Tyler when I noticed that he was just out of it tonight. "Hey Segs what's wrong?" I asked him. "Nothing. Okay maybe it's something but I don't know how to tell her or you for that matter." "Tyler just spit it out already." "I'm in love with Riley. I'm not talking about some sappy high school love, I'm talking about the love that when I'm not with her my heart hurts and she is all I can think about. Jamie she is my entire life now." "Tyler you don't think I already know that. I See the way that you look at her. I'm happy for you, and in fact a your captain I think you should tell her how you feel tonight." "Yeah I think I will. Thanks Cap."

I now he never got the chance to tell her how he feels. I hope that he is okay, but I know how hard this is gonna be I just hope she knows that when she gets back things might not ever be the same.

Riley's Pov:

4 months later:

It had been 4 months that I was living in Australia and I finally decided to go home. I talked to Anna almost everyday but I hadn't received a word from Jamie. She told me that she and Jamie were now officially a couple and keeps me updated on Tyler and Jamie.Tyler has been playing like crap and for the first 2 months was bugging Anna trying to get her to tell him where I was. Apparently he went up to my room and has slept there every night with a picture cuddled up with him. He finally gave up and decided to rely on alcohol to help "Ease the pain" was what he called it. He finally was stupid enough to get injured by getting his Achilles tendon cut 15% so he was out for 3-4 weeks. I decided it was time to come home mostly because I couldn't be away any longer. After saying goodbye to my family, I got to the airport and I was on my way home. I was honestly completely worried about what was going to happen between us and I Don't think he will ever want to be with me ever again, but I know that even though I left there wasn't a day where he wasn't going through my head.

16 hours later:

I just landed in Texas and let me tell you how happy I am to finally be back home. No matter how afraid I had been, I knew I could never leave Dallas, it was know my one and I loved it almost as much as I loved Middlebury. As I got my stuff from the baggage claim, I went outside to go wait for Anna. As soon as she heard I was coming home he was jumping so much I thought she was going to eventually hurt herself.I can still remember when she asked me if I was going to tell the boys but I decided against it and came up with an even better surprise for them and I just hoped that they would appreciate it.
