Chapter 23

Riley's Pov:

When I walked into the locker room, it took them a few minutes before they finally realized I was standing in the doorway waiting for a reaction. Val was the first one to break away from the group and came up to me and gave me a giant hug the only my favorite teddy bear could give me. "Riley I'm so happy to see you are safe. Don't ever leave me again, I had to cuddle with Demers and it just wasn't the same." With a small laugh he walked away and then the entire team except for Tyler and Jamie had the chance to come up to me give me a hug and tell me how happy they were too see me. Finally Jamie came up to me and practically squeezing me to death. After almost dying he set me back down on my feet and started to apologize. "Riley I'm so sorry for everything you've been through and for me not doing anything and I'm-" "Jamie I swear to god if you tell me you are sorry again you will get punched. You Canadians always assume it's your fault. Nothing was you fault I just needed to get away for a little bit I promise you that I am better and if anything I should be apologizing. We have time or that later but I wanted to give you all a pep talk before I talk to Tyler alone if that's alright with you Captain?" With A stunned face but a smile appearing, he nodded his head and I grabbed the chair next to me and stood on top of it so I could see everybody's faces. "Boys tonight's game is the most important game that you have played this season and I want you to all know that I love you all and that I hoped that me coming back like this, today, it would help give you guys fire. I know what all of you are capable of and I want only the best for you all. I need you to promise not to let me down and promise that even if you don't think you can fight anymore you will push yourselves, because I know that the pain will only last for a little while and that if you push through the pain, you feel so much better afterwards coming out with a win. I know all of your talents and now is the time to showcase it and make me and all of the other people out there proud to love Dallas and the Stars." With that I smiled at them and saw that all of them were smiling as well and I knew that this pep talk went better than I expected. I got down from the chair and after a group hug lead by the captain everyone but Tyler Left the room and it was time for me to talk to him I just hope he was willing to listen and forgive me for all I have done.
