Chapter 12: Their Secrets

Its been 4 days since I got the hospital and now, I'm going home with Caleb. He's been taking care of me since then but I got the feeling he's mind were elsewhere and I couldn't figure them out though I wanted to ask him but no words ever came out each time I tried to asked him.

On our way, everything felt simple like old times with him but I got these butterflies for some reasons. When we reached my home, he was about to leave me for today but I can't hold it anymore. I'm worried.

"Caleb, tell me is there something wrong?" I finally managed to ask him.

He didn't reply instead, he looked back at me then hugged me tightly. I was confused and seriously worrying about him.

"Nothing, there were lot of things need to consider since I inherit my parents business. Sorry, if I worried you too much especially when you just got out the hospital." He sincerely answered me but he's still hiding something from me. I know that.

"Well, I'm here. Whenever you're ready to spill them out, I won't go anywhere but with you." I sighed as I smiled to him with a bit relief for now.

He smiled to me then kissed my forehead then hugged me again like he doesn't want to leave me alone but he must.

I know, even I wanted him to stay but like he said he had things need to settled first since he got whatever the business of his parents might be; I'm just here for him.

SHAKES! I really do love him; a lot.

But I have secrets that maybe sooner or later will be revealed and I need to prepare myself for the worst reactions from him.

As I left her house, I felt guilt building within me but I must clarified things on my own then I need to deal with this. Good thing it was Friday, I went to my apartment to changed my clothing then prepared some empty boxes because I must relocate my home into something more secured but not far from the woods and the school.I fixed my things and put them all in the box. When I was done and my stomach was still full, I went out to put all boxes and things on my car then I went to the owner of the apartment about my sudden relocation. After some talking and goodbyes, I immediately drove to the previews house of my grandparents that was really not far from the woods and the school.

This house was still neat but need some make-over but that will follow soon. I entered the house that really looked abandon or even worst, creepy. Yet this house will do because I know everything inside and outside of this house.

"First, I need to put my things inside then cleaned up before getting busy." I mumbled to myself as I began to put all the boxes inside my new home.

From 6 in the morning, now, it's already passed noon and I hadn't eat anything yet. So, I decided to go down the street to buy some meal and come back here. The time passed quickly that I never realized it was already this late; it was already 7 in the evening and I'm almost done inside the house and the only thing left was the outside. I even fixed the cable wires for the lights and some landlines even the water pipes.

Good thing, I got some background on doing them when my family was with me. They taught me things I must learn within the household.

Finally, I was done before 10. I rested on the new cleaned study room of my grandfather before throwing myself on the tub. When I was relaxing, I took my tablet with me and checked my mail. Light finally send me all the lists that I requested. I studied them thoroughly and thoughtfully. Every member of the Hasten have different life before coming into RD but RD didn't even question why they wanted new life instead they gave new life like, new home, new work and fair income that really benefit them in good way.

I smirked after reading all their backgrounds and lives inside and outside the Hasten. Then, I left the tub to get dry and changed my clothes. Afterwards, I went to my grandparents old room and there, I read everything about the Hasten Hunters. Like what I did to the first lists, I studied everything what needed to be considered then I found something interesting.

"Secrets..." I mumbled while smirking as I read the file of Icy Shadow.

"...I want her." I said as the smile never left me lips as I kept reading her interesting profile.

As I read it, her face shown onto my mind and from there I got the feeling of wanting to do the same for her. I took my phone out and called Light immediately.

'What can I do for you, Frost?'

"I want Icy. So, I want you to test her if she was qualified to me next to me." I frankly told him that made him chuckled and I wondered.

"What so funny, Light?" I asked him directly.

'Frost, Icy Shadow was literally what her code was. I mean, she's like a cold-ice shadow that no one can tell whatever she thinks or even speak to others. Why do you want her?'

"Guts. I am me around her. So, for clarification, I wanted to test her if she was the person I'm thinking of." I replied to him as I get what he meant.

'Fine, but what test?'

"Hmm, let's just say a test that isn't a test; just prepared a venue for her to meet me and I want everyone to be the judge on the side lines. Think of it as a game of truth." I told him while I was wearing my devilish grin on my face then I hanged up.

I can't helped but to smile as I thought of Icy and Mei as one. I can helped but to protect them both and if ever they both ended up as different person, I still do what need to be done as a boyfriend to Mei and as good boss to Icy. But my excitement was sending me overdrive just thinking how many possibilities I wanted for her and me.

But I was cut off by a call...Mei.

"hello." I picked up my phone.

'Ahmm, Caleb...got a spare time?'

"Yeah, what's up babe?" I asked with such worried and confusion written onto my face now.

'There was something I forgot to tell you about me...'

"O-okay...what is it honey?" I asked as my heart started to throbbed per mile.

'I forgot to tell you where I work and what I do to survive for living...'

"You already told me what you do –" I said but she cut me off.

'I worked for Hasten. That's my secret. I know tell this to you might put you to danger and mine as well but I rather take that risk than hiding things that you might learn sooner or later. I rather say it by myself. So...uhm...bye.'

She hanged up not even waiting for me to respond but that thing finally answered my question, isn't it? Well, let see if it is.

"I also have secret..." I mumbled then I jumped onto my new master bed and drifted to sleep.
