Pulsing lights flashed around as music blasted in my ears. This wasn't what I expected. No, not what I expected at all. Cassy was ecstatic and hopped on board as soon as I mentioned my brother would be coming with us and Liam nearly died when he saw me in the tight black cocktail dress Cody got me. Cassy nearly had a heart attack herself. Cassy was a lot like me. She hated the life of the rich. She came from a wealthy family too, her mother was always on her case and seeing as our parents were really close, our mother's seemed to have the same views on 'dressing politely', along with all the other mothers in Sec.2 and the other privileged sections. This club in the east was the only place where you'd find half-naked girls and boys grinding up against one another. And fortunately, Cassy had managed to steal herself one of her older sisters clubbing dresses before she upped and left with her millionaire husband into Sec.1.
In the lower sections, etiquette was a big thing. You'd never see any women wearing pants or short skirts like you would in the club. The streets were all filled with 'properly dressed' women and men all of which stuck to their allocated roles in society. But here in the club, there was no such thing as properly dressed young men and women, and a thing such as etiquette never existed.
We danced along with the loud blasting music most of the night and once we tired, we made our way over to the packed bar. It was about an hour until my curfew and Cody was nowhere to be found. If I was late for curfew, there was no doubt my mother would take me to hell and leave me there. Though, even hell seemed better than home right now. Cassy was on the same boat, except her curfew was eleven thirty. I know right, why'd I have to get stuck with the strict mother? But she was bunking with me tonight seeing as Liam was bunking with Cody and so, my curfew was her curfew and we were going to be late.
Cassy downed another shot as my eyes scanned the dancefloor for Cody or Liam. But obviously, I could never find either of them when I needed them the most. I know I could've just taken the tram back home but there was no doubt there'd be photographers just outside the club and if anyone took a picture of me dressed like this, it would land up in the papers. Neither of us could go anywhere without being stalked by the media seeing as our parents decided to make it big and not only put their faces on the map, but the faces of their children as well. So, thanks dad. Plus, Cody was probably going to be sloshed along with Liam and my best friend was on her way there as well so, I'd probably end up driving us all home in the cruzer. We'd came here in the cruzer – which is Cody's black hovercraft he'd gotten for his twentieth birthday – because taking the tram was unacceptable in most eyes.
"I can't see them anywhere." I yelled over the music.
She took another shot and her face scrunched up in disgust as the heavy alcohol traveled down her throat. "We'll find them." She yelled back finally after she swallowed. Once she took in my worried face, she patted me on the back, "Don't worry, J. We'll get back in time." She said and handed me another shot. I downed it and gave her a warning to slow down. This had only been her third one of the evening and I could already see her traveling down the path of tipsiness. My friend did not hold her alcohol as well as I did. She nodded and bounced up and down on the spot at the luminescent blue bar, her black locks bobbing up and down on her skinny brown shoulders. Her green eyes flickered around the room and then shot back to me as she smirked and said, "Don't look now – but there's a hottie at ten o'clock and he's totally flagging you."
I couldn't prevent my own smirk from rising and subtly turned to face the bar where I innocently glanced over in the direction of this so-called hottie. My eyes fell upon a brown haired guy across the bar. His sharp jawline and dark green eyes caught my attention immediately and as soon as I looked at him, I looked away. He wasn't only flagging me – which was Cassy's way of saying he was checking me out – he was staring. If he wasn't so hot, I'd probably think that was really creepy. I didn't know how long he'd been staring but I was suddenly glad I was forced to come out tonight. His dark leather jacket and spiky brown hair made him look dangerous – something my mother would scowl at. And those circular black earrings in each ear made him even more sexy.
