Floating: a weightless motion across an area of space. Space? Dark, cold, empty, a black void filled with nothing entirely, an abyss of overwhelming solitude, loneliness, isolation.
Earth crumbled into an insignificant little speck before my eyes, and like a piece of paper set on fire, it burnt with a flame so bright, the flame could be seen days after we left it and the rest for dead.
Screams of exhilaration and relief filled my ears as soon as we were up in the black sky, sailing upon the endless ocean of constellations and drifting by bright moons and multicolored planets.

He held onto my hand as we blasted into space, away from everything that we knew, and towards something entirely new. And I gripped on tight. Because if I didn't, I was afraid I'd melt away into nothing too, become utterly unimportant and useless like the rest we left for dead.
Completely replaceable.
Furthermore, I'd disappear into myself had I not had him by my side. With the amount of darkness surrounding me, the trip towards insanity looked exceedingly inviting. And without him, I'd slip quickly.
