Those last two days were the loneliest of my entire life. I could barely move. Not because I was physically injured or anything. Though, it did feel as though I'd lost a big part of me, like a leg, or a hand, or something.
Jeremy followed through with his promise and didn't come near me at all. In fact, he didn't even look my way anymore, or speak to me directly. And somehow, being forced to let him between my legs every night was better than him constantly acting like I didn't exist. At least he was acknowledging my presence then. Now... it was literally like I died.
I packed our bags that night, emptying out our closets and filling up four suitcases. It was way too much for just two people. In all honesty, all our shit should've fit in one bag, two tops. After packing our clothing, I lingered around the house, looking for anything else that needed to come with.
What do you take with you to a whole new planet? It wasn't like visiting a new country. We couldn't come back if we forgot our toothbrush. It was a whole different world. How do you know what to bring and what not to bring?
We ate dinner in silence. And once it was finish, he lingered behind, refilling his empty glass with brandy every time it magically disappeared. I couldn't leave until he did, until he dismissed me to our chambers like his little prostitute. That was how it went. The liquor spelt out trouble as soon as his weary eyes looked at me.
"You saw him today?" He asked, twirling the crystal glass around in his hand. My silence confirmed the answer to his question and he downed his brandy and began pouring another. "And I suppose that's his ring that replaced mine." He pointed to my ring finger, Jeremy's diamond rock gone, and Dylan's hard metal band in its place. I twirled it around my finger as Jeremy sighed. "You can't wear that in public." He stated.
"Why not?"
He shook his head. "It's not from me, from your husband." He stood then and sauntered over to me on the other side of the long table. "What is it about him that you find so amazing?"
"Besides his dick?" I quirked an eyebrow and he laughed.
"You're not playing fair." He sunk down into the chair next to mine. "I'm not trying to hurt you. I'm asking because I truly don't know. I don't see what he has that I don't."
"Of course you don't see it." I said. "He has my heart. As cheesy as it sounds. It's his." I shrugged. "And that's something that you'll never have."
The silence pierced my ears. He tilted his head, staring at me blankly for a few minutes before he shot up and flung the crystal glass filled with brandy at the wall. I jumped back and he turned on me, swung my chair to face him and leaned on the top, blocking me from making a run for it.
"I've given you everything!" he yelled. "What more could I possibly give you!"
"Jeremy, just calm down–"
"NO! I won't calm down! I'm not going to calm down until you tell me you love me!" he gripped my arms and yanked me out of the chair, shaking me. "Tell me you love me!" he shook me. "Say it!"
