A/N:
Hey hey :) so I've decided to surprise you all with another fast update. I want to get Earth finish before Christmas. Seeing as there's there's only four more updates left, I'm hoping to get it done within this week and next week.
Hold on tight, the road's about to get bumpy...

The streetlights flickered above our heads as the night crept up upon us. It wasn't dark enough to bring flashlights, but it wasn't technically bright enough to see clearly. We hovered around the corner from my old house, waiting for the shouting to cease until we entered.
We had everything we needed. Coats, boots, sleeping bags and blankets. The works. Everything we needed to survive out there. All we needed now was enough food to last us for the four weeks we were out there. And I knew for a fact, greedy Mrs. Fuller always stocked up the pantry until it was practically overflowing with food.
We spent the whole of Friday planning, sorting out times and informing all of those that needed to know. I kept Cassy and Liam in the loop, telling them it was for the best. They tried persuading me otherwise but I wouldn't hear any of it. I said my goodbyes to a weeping Cass and an upset Liam, and without any say in the matter, they accepted my decision and bid us farewell. I didn't mention any of this to Cody. I wanted to keep him as far away from my problems as possible.
Dylan told his mother and the kids and them knowing that they're better off spending a few days in hell then actually having a shot at making it to paradise, was a better fate than the one they were about to face.
NASA would transport the rich and famous to Ultra. After their first arrival, who knows how long it'll be for them until they get back? Who knows if they'll even come back? Whether the withering planet beneath my feet would last that long is another story too. Dylan's family had a better chance of coming with us than staying and waiting for the shuttle to take us to the New World.
A masculine voice yelled inside the house, something crashed and Mary's screeching filled my ears. A second later, Peter stormed out the front door, wiping blood from his cheek as he hopped into his cruzer and zoomed down the street, driving away from another episode no doubt. We waited another hour or so until it was dark. Mary would've overdosed on her happy pills and passed out by now and Peter wouldn't be home for a couple more hours.
As soon as the coast was clear, Dylan and I made a run for the house, slipped quietly inside and shut the door behind us. We hurried to the kitchen and I flipped on the pantry light.
"There's a bag in that cupboard over there." I pointed to it and Dylan quietly removed it. "Hold it open." I commanded softly and one by one, I removed the cans from their shelves and placed them in the bag. Another bag later and I'd cleaned out the pantry, moved to the drawers and got some cutlery.
"What are you doing?"
"We're not savages." I whispered. "We need some spoons and stuff."
"How about you leave the spooning to me and we get outta here?"
A second before we could go, a voice sounded near the kitchen door. "Jane?" Mary stood in her nightgown, her arms all beaten up and bruised, staring at us with tired, disbelieving eyes. She smiled weakly, "You've come home."
"Only to get a few things." I said calmly. "I'm sure you won't mind." The light from the pantry lit up her frown and she moved forward to flip on the kitchen light. Peter had left her face completely clean of any cuts and bruises. Clever boy. If anyone came snooping, they wouldn't see anything unless they undressed her.
