"So, I've done it." I said in a self-satisfied tone as Cody pranced into my room that night. His short black hair was tousled from someone's fingers running through it and he had lipstick on his cheek. No doubt, his date grew pretty heated. He sauntered towards my bed in his tight black jeans and threw his jacket onto the sofa in the corner of my room before falling down onto the bed with me.

"You've done what?" he asked with a grin.

"I've finally pushed mum over the edge." I nodded.

"Oh yeah?" he asked in amusement, "And how did you do that exactly?"

"Told her I'm gonna be a stripper." I said matter-of-factly and Cody's eyes widened as he let out an impressed laugh.

"Whoa! Well done, sis!" he congratulated and held his hand up for me to slap with my own. "So how long is the punishment this time?"

"I've received a life sentence."

"Oooh." He scrunched up his face. "Dunno how you're gonna get out of this one, J."

"Ha! I already have." I smirked smugly. "She grounded me for life on this planet, but said nothing about Ultra. So technically, I'm only grounded for five months."

"Clever girl." He chuckled. "They say anything about me?"

"Just that you're a nitwit for not joining the nerd club at NASA and I'm an even bigger idiot for defending you."

"Ah, what's new?" he said blankly and I nodded.

"How was the date?" I asked with a smirk, my eyebrows bouncing up and down.

He grinned, "Great." He gave me a kiss on the forehead and grabbed his coat before heading towards the door. "Gonna hit the sack. Tell you all about it tomorrow. Night, J."

"Codes, you might wanna wipe your date's lips off your face before you go." I said and Cody glanced in the mirror with a frown, after which he spotted the kiss his date had left him and chuckled.

Wiping it off, he said, "Thanks, sis. Sleep well, alright. Love you."

"Love you too."

Saturday: injection day. It was close enough to the day of departure to go and get ourselves ready for Ultra. We arrived at the hospital at 9 A.M. I nearly cried for having to wake up so early, but my mother insisted I go with her in the morning and Cody and dad could go together in the night session seeing as dad was working and Cody was still sleeping. I was still asleep too but out of Cody and I, our mother would pick me to irritate rather than Cody.

The building was huge. It had millions and millions of rooms, all occupied with doctors and nurses doing the job to get the rest of the world ready for Ultra. The hospital was connected to every single section there was so any one could come and get injections any time they wanted because nobody makes any judgements when it came to health.

The waiting rooms were crowded as everyone waited for a nurse to call their name. Soon after eleven, my mother's name was called and she was dragged off to a separate room. Time ticked by and sometime after twelve, a nurse called my name. I jumped up, eager to go with her and see what all of this was about.

"You can come with me." she said with a pleasant smile and walked me over to a huge room with multiple chairs separated by means of a plastic, see-through curtain. "Wait here, please." she said as she sat me down in one of the blocked out cubicles. Each cubicle had a chair and table in it. I looked through the curtains to see many people in the rows next to me, all disfigured by the plastic curtain. The nurse returned shortly after with a tray of syringes, set it down on the table and started walking me through the process.
