We lay in a blissful ignorance of our surroundings. Whatever was happening in the world around us didn't matter. Because all that mattered in that moment, was what was happening inside my room. I lay on his chest, my head floating up and down as he breathed. His rough fingers trailed along my bare spine as we listened to the chaos erupt outside my door.
Father had returned home without Cody. I assumed he was staying over at Liam's. Dad walked to my door, knocked slightly but after no answer, he drifted away. And without me being 'conscious' and all, father had no one else to spend time with. Not that he ever spent time with me.
But there were those random moments he'd come sit in my room when no one else was around and have our 'daddy-daughter' conversations. Mother had left sometime during my little trip to Neverland and came back close to twelve that night, which didn't sit well with dad.
"I don't care what you've been doing." Dad said, trying to keep his voice as low as possible. "If this gets out, who knows what people will say?"
"To hell with what people will say, Peter!" My mother retaliated loudly.
"You keep your voice down!"
Dylan sighed. "Are they always like this?"
"Yeah. Doesn't usually last this long though." I told him. "Usually mom walks out without saying anything and the whole thing would just remain a wordless quarrel between them."
"Fuck. That's hectic." He murmured.
I frowned. "I suppose." Dylan didn't really bother himself with these things. I wonder why he's suddenly shown interest. "It's better in your home, I guess?" I asked tentatively, trying to get a peek into his life.
"F'course." He grinned. "We don't have any raving males around to start up shit." He smirked down at me once my eyes connected with his, and then his traveled back up to the ceiling. "Besides me, obviously. Then again, I'm never really there."
"Why is that?"
"Because I'm here." He smiled down at me and placed a kiss on my forehead. My mind lingered on that thought for longer than necessary as my arm slithered further around his ribs and I shifted closer to him. And after quite a while of screaming, something outside was thrown and glass shattered. Dylan's head shot towards my door and he sat up a little.
"What was that?" he asked, concern crumpling his features.
I glanced back at the door, then pressed gently on his chest so he could lie back down. "That's just mom."
He got comfortable once more, but his frown never faltered. "She threw something?"
I hummed in response, yawning out, "We usually lose a vase or two every week. Lately it's gotten worse. That's why mom's always out shopping." His jaw clenched a bit but he asked no more questions about it, and another topic for conversation popped into mind. "So." I moved fully onto his chest, peering up at him beneath my lashes, "You finished inside me."
"Yeah." He smirked in pride, until he suddenly realised something. "Oh shit." His face fell. "Wasn't I supposed to do that?"
I laughed. "No. I'm glad you did." I threw his smirk right back at him. "In 9 months' time, there's gonna be a little you running around." My fingers walked across his chest and his brow begun to furrow in concern. I think he was beginning to regret everything right now.
Little did he know I was on the Fertility Programme. Basically, it's a serum that keeps you sterilized until after marriage. At the beginning of every year, every unmarried woman must take it according to the law. And yes, that includes little kids too.
