A/N:

So, lengthy update ahead, but it's quite important. I thought about spacing it out but that would just take too long so I put it all in.

Enjoy :)

"I want to meet them."

I looked at Dylan as he pulled on his boots, strapping them up as he got one on. "Meet who?" he asked as he finished strapping the second one.

"Your family."

He sighed, shaking his head down to the floor. "Jane..."

"I don't care what you have to say." I shut him down firmly. "Any excuses you're thinking of making isn't going to work. I've decided if you want to stick around, I'm going to have to meet your family. And I want to do it now."

"What about me meeting your family?" he asked with a smirk.

I shrugged. "You already met most of them. Dad's never here anyway so there's really no point in you meeting him." A heavy breath left his lips as he contemplated. I wasn't going to back down. If his little sob story was true, I didn't see the problem of me meeting them. They wouldn't have a problem with us, I don't think.

After a few more seconds, his eyes drifted up to mine and they rolled around in his skull as he grumbled, "Fine." A yelp left my lips as I leaped on him and kissed him. He chuckled a little then kissed me back.

And when my mother's voice boomed through the house after she came through the front door and beckoned me to her, he slipped through my window and said, "I'll be here after my shift at the club. It ends at noon." He avoided my eyes as he breathed in deeply. "I'll come pick you up then."

I lifted his face, looking in his eyes as I said, "Okay. I'll be waiting."

A ghost of a smile curved his lips slightly. He gave me a small peck on my lips and then disappeared around the corner.

He was ashamed of his many jobs, is what he told me. Little did he know, I didn't actually care. At least he had a job. I don't know what Jeremy was going to do now that his future was handed to none other than my brother's best friend, Liam. At least Dylan was doing something to help himself and his family. Jeremy seemed to be sulking, and that was it.

This whole money situation was just blown out of proportion. Sure, I had reason to overreact. I mean, he stole from my dad and lied about what he was doing half the time. But now that I knew his reasoning, I suppose it was just a big misunderstanding. Plus, why should I care anyway? It's not like it's my money he stole.

I thought about it while I pranced down the hall, not even noticing all the lights in the house were off. When I arrived in the sitting room, a single lamp was switched on above mother's head, illuminating her entire skeletal frame.

"Mom?" I called out, scrunching my eyes to catch a glimpse of her face.

A moment of silence and then, "Sit down, dear."

I looked around first, trying to catch sight of anyone wanting to jump out at me as a type of surprise and give me a heart attack in the process. Once I saw no one near, I sat and she inhaled. The anticipation was killing me. I couldn't handle it when she was like this.

It's like I stepped into one of those really old movies where the bad guys are interrogated by the 'good cop' first, and now the bad. After a while, she finally brought up the topic of the conversation, and when she did, my heart skipped a couple of beats.
