Yuuum.. there's nothing better than red velvet cookies sandwiched with cream cheese frosting. I think I'm going to go and make one of those later. Wait, I should really stop thinking about food. But, it's soooo good. Ohh and imagine eating those cookies with vanilla ice.
"My love, please wake up!!" I heard someone said. Wait, is someone yelling at me? hmm... probably no one. Anyways... going back, I'll have to buy ice cream with "My love, please wake up now, we are all in danger!!" There, I heard it again. I look around and saw no one but myself, in this land of cookies and ice cream. That's weird. I swear I heard someone shouting.
I heard the same voice again, but it was now with more urgency, as if what that person was saying is something really important. I try listening to that voice one more time because I can't quite distinguish who and what that person is saying. "Angel! Wake up!! Please!!"
Wait a minute, I know that voice. That sweet, pure and golden voice only belonged to one person. My mother. I immediately bolted up from my sleep, abandoning my dream that was full of my guilty pleasures, and look at my mom who is now standing in front of me with an agitated expression. I don't understand why she is being like this.
"Mom, what's wrong? Are you alright?" I asked her with concern in my voice. "Honey, I am so glad you're awake. Listen up and listen quick. There is no much time." My mom quickly said. I decided to take a sniff. My eyes widened as I realized that there were numerous werewolves inside and outside the pack house. Wolves whose scents I am very unfamiliar with. I started to have an uneasy feeling in my gut.
"Mom, what's happening?" I asked, fear and panic clear in my voice. "The BloodMoon Pack has come in our territory and is now attacking our pack." As soon as those words left her mouth, screams of fear and agony from our pack members were heard and that's where I really started panicking. My mom also looked anxious after hearing her pack suffering, well she is the Luna after all. "Mom, why are they here? Where's dad? What do they want? Are we gonna die? I'm so scared Mom!!" I asked, my heart beating rapidly in my chest from all the catastrophe that is happening right outside my room.
"Dad is outside fighting, don't worry, he will be fine. They're here because they are finding something." My mom quickly went to my closet, pulled out a backpack and what seems like a black mysterious box that is more or less the same size of the bag. I examined the two objects my mom was currently holding and asked her what those were. "Angel, honey, this is very important. You cannot tell anyone about this. Not even your friends. Since you're already 18, I figured that you are already responsible enough to handle these kinds of situations. Here in this backpack is a set of clothes, some water and food, and a map to HillWood Downtown, where your Aunt Marie is currently staying. You are to go there and bring this box with you. No matter what happens, you are to not lose this box, no matter the situations. Got it?" My mom said, well more like whispered low enough just for me to hear.
I couldn't understand her. Why would I go and leave my parents, my pack, and my life and go to that town to live with my Aunt? I don't even know her! And what is it with this box that seems so important for my mom? Is this what the BloodMoon Pack is looking for? Oh my goodness.. I am so going to die. I don't want to leave my this pack, the more my parents. They're my only family since my big brother passed away when I was still little. I don't want to leave them and I won't.
"Mom.. I can't go and leave you and dad! It's not fair on your side! I want to fight and stand in your side, defending our pack." I tried reasoning with her, my voice shaking from the nervousness I am feeling. Tears threatening to fall at the thought of leaving my parents from this bloody war. "No Angel." My mom said, her face covered with so much seriousness that I realized she wasn't kidding. I really have to go and leave them. "You can't stay here Angel, please be a good girl and do what I say. Me and your dad are only doing what's best for you. Quickly!" She said, pulling me up from the sitting position I was just seconds ago, and pushed me towards my bathroom. "Mom, why are we here? This is the bathroom, not the way out. Why.."
My statement was cut off as my bathtub became what seems like stairs! "How in the world... " I'm pretty sure my jaw already hit the ground because of how shocked I am. "Honey, go and keep running, don't look back and just keep running until you have reached your Aunt Marie. I love you. You are special, my love. Always remember that." My mom said, tears clear in her eyes. "I love you too Mom. Tell Dad I also love him. Even though I still don't understand what is happening, I shall go, in order to protect you and the pack." I said, tears also clear in my eyes. I hugged and kissed her one last time, took the backpack and the black box, and went to the secret passage that would eventually lead to a tunnel. Ohhh I feel like I'm in those movies where the character fights with bad guys, tries to escape, discovers a secret passage, was able to escape, found the love of his life, and live happily ever after. Only this time, it was real, and I'm not sure if "happily ever after"would come true to me. Fingers crossed that everything would be alright.
