Ash's POV

I'm currently walking with Xander to the dining table.

I can't believe I just told him that I'm the chosen one! Stupid, Ash!

And the worst part is, he seemed calm about it. How come?

When he said that he needed something from her, what does he mean? What does he need from me?

I took a peek on my right and saw that he was already staring at me with those oceanic eyes of his and smiled down at me. He is really tall anyway.

I looked away and looked across me, trying to remember the way to the kitchen.

We've passed some pack members of Xander and they looked at me as if I'm a rouge or something. You see, I don't usually smile at people. The more strangers. I just look at them, not really caring on who they are. Maybe that's why I have received a lot of glares from Xander's pack, mainly women. But I did feel a little bit of self-conscious by the way they look at me, but thankfully Xander just glared at them and they would mutter a sorry and leave.

"You still okay Ash?" Xander softly asked after glaring at some women for sending dirty looks to me.

My heart fluttered since he cared about me.

I just nodded and muttered a thank you, not really trusting my voice right now.

Suddenly, the smell of roast chicken, mashed potatoes and other food filled my nostrils and I can't help but internally salivate since I am starving.

Finally, we've arrived on the dining table. My stomach then grumbled, reminding me that I haven't ate since this morning. My cheeks heat up from embarrassment and Xander chuckled.

"I guess you're really hungry, Ash." He smirked that sexy smirk of his.

I just nodded. I could already hear numerous people talking and laughing.

When we entered the huge dining table, my mouth fell open and the room grew eerily silent.

In front of me was a long rectangular table, probably being able to occupy about twenty people, delicious food placed on the table, some women serving the food and a lot of eyes staring at me.

I gulped and I can feel my palms getting sweaty from the amount of eyes looking straight at me. I always felt uncomfortable meeting new people so yeah, I'm so screwed.
