Ash's POV
Since it's almost one in the afternoon and I already ate with Alex in the mall, I was hoping that Aunt Marie Jane could teach me the last element. I think they've eaten already so I hope we can start as soon as possible.
"Well, I guess I'll see you around. I have to talk to Xander." I told Alex, waving at her before going to Xander's office, hoping that he'll be there.
The smell of peppermint and plum filled my nostrils and me and my wolf internally cheered, knowing that our mate is indeed in his office.
I didn't bother to knock on the door and went straight in.
My eyes widened at the sight in front of me.
Here in front of me is an angry looking Xander talking to someone on the phone and him looking really stressed out.
His handsome face were covered in faint wrinkles, his hair sticking out everywhere and papers sprawled out his entire desk, making him look really stressed out.
"I said I don't know what you're talking about. I told you it's not with me!" He shouted to the other line, banging his fist on the table which resulted to a loud crack, breaking the poor table a little bit.
He ran his hand through his hair and I saw him look up, sensing my presence and visibly tensed suddenly.
He looked at me with wide eyes as I do the same.
He turned his gaze from my eyes to the ground and shook his head.
"We'll talk later. Yes, I said later, okay?" He told the other line, gritting his teeth as if he was trying to control his anger and put down the phone.
He propped his elbows on the table and rested his face on his palms, taking deep breaths.
I slowly approached him, not wanting to anger him further. I went around the table and stood beside, taking a slow deep breath.
"You okay?" I cautiously asked him, holding his arm.
He stiffened for a second from my touch, but relaxed soon.
He didn't answer though and that just made me more curious.
"Hey." I told him, shaking his arm a little bit to get his attention.
I let out a small shriek as he suddenly pulled me from my waist and onto his lap, his arms hugging my small figure and embracing me in a tight bear hug.
I can feel his tense muscles soon relax from the hug.
I broke the hug after a moment and looked at him with concern and anxiety. "What's the matter?"
He shook his head and smiled a little. "You don't need to worry about it, mate."
I slightly groaned. "But I do want to know. I want to help you." I told him, looking at those oceanic eyes of his.
"How was shopping with Alex?" He deliberately changed the topic.
I rolled my eyes at his acts. " It was fine now what happened?" I asked him, pushing him to tell me what was going on. I mean I am his mate after all so I do want to help him.
