Xander's POV

It has been five hours since Red left my pack house.

Five hours of me and my men searching for my mate.

Five hours of pure suffering.

We already checked the whole territory and still, no sign of Red. I started getting worried, where in the world is she? God, I already miss her.

I haven't eaten lunch and I decided against it since I have to find my mate fist. She's my priority. Now and forever.

We also couldn't detect a scent of her here and even at the house. How does she do it? I did smell her scent when we first encountered in the kitchen, then it suddenly disappeared. Is she masking her scent?

It was beginning to get dark. The sun already finished with its job in providing sunlight on us and the moon slowly rising to take over. But that didn't stop me from finding her.

One of my men then suggested that we rest since we have been running for hours. I didn't want to. I needed to find Red. I wasn't even tired yet!

But I decided to let my men rest since I can see that they are really exhausted.

Oh Red, where are you?

After resting, we then continued searching.

It was already 11pm. We have been searching for over ten hours now and I'm starting to feel sleep taking over.

I told my men to return home around 7pm, seeing that they're already drained from searching for Red.

But I didn't stop. I kept on searching and searching.

But when I still couldn't find her, my hope was slowly declining, fearful that she has really left me for good.

I decided to return to the pack house and rest, hoping that she would show up tomorrow.

I couldn't sleep. My mind filled with Red's images. I'm so worried about her. What if Rouges decided to kill her? What if someone kidnapped her? Raped her? Killed her?

That last thought made my blood boil. I cannot let anyone hurt her. I just can't.

I quickly got out of bed, put on a shirt and jeans and went outside to look for her again.

It was probably already three in the morning, and still, no sign of her.

I became hopeless, not knowing on where to find my mate.

Suddenly, an idea popped in my mind. I then ran towards the last place I swore to myself I would never go, crossed my fingers and hoped that she would be there.

I'm going to the witch's house.

Here I am. Outside of the witch's door. I have a pack member whose mate was a witch. I wanted to kick the witch out but decided against it since I feel sorry for the man not having a mate.

I took a deep breath and banged on the door several times.

Seconds passed and no one was answering. Are they deaf? I started getting irritated. I then banged the door harder and I heard a crack.

I stopped for a second, not shocked that I broke down the door.

I shrugged then quickly went inside, wanting to see my mate already.

"Where is she?!" I shouted, my voice being heard throughout the house.

I saw the witch and her mate run down the stairs, worry and fear in their eyes.
