Ash's POV
And all he did was stare at me.
Why isn't he saying something? Anything!
Suddenly, I was pulled to a hug, my head landing softly on a hard chest and I suddenly calmed down. All the anger and frustration gone. I realized Xander was hugging me. Sparks and tingles flowed throughout my body and I shivered, loving it.
He hugged me tightly, not wanting to let go, scared that once he lets go of me, it wouldn't be the same.
To say that I'm shock would be an understatement. I was beyond shocked. I didn't expect this man, my mate, to hug me. But he did, and damn did it feel good.
He pulled away and held my arm, looking deep in my eyes.
"I would never deliberately hurt you Red, I mean Ash. What you saw in the kitchen was a mistake. She used to be my girlfriend until I found you. I am so sorry for kissing her. I swear I didn't sleep with her. Believe me." He whispered, eyes pleading me to believe him.
I didn't want to believe him. He could be lying for god's sake. He is an Alpha. And a hot one, if I may say so myself. So he probably sleeps with women and have fun with them. Typical Alpha jerks. But as I stare at those eyes, I couldn't detect a single lie from it. He was probably telling the truth. Key word, probably. I still have to double-check.
"And the only reason I called you Red was because you never told me your name. So since you had red streaks of hair and a sassy attitude, I figured I would call you Red until I know your name." He chuckled, caressing my check at the process.
Damn it! I feel so stupid! He wasn't looking for his sluts, he was looking for me. And by the way he looks at me, I just can't help myself but hug him back.
He stiffened for a second, probably not expecting me to do that gesture since I am not a fan of physical touches, but also hugged me back. Sparks flew everywhere and I savored the moment. He released a breath of relief and I did the same.
He was the first one to break the hug and I wanted more. I wanted to feel his warmth against mine, but I guess I could just do it later.
"Are you okay? You passed out last night, I mean this morning." I said, still concerned about him.
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me Ash." He smiled at me, showing off his perfect teeth.
I love the way he said my name. It gave me shivers of pleasure and I love it.
"What happened? I mean, why were you here in my Aunt's house?"
"The witch is your Aunt?" He asked, confusion written all over his handsome face.
I smiled. "Yes, she is. Now what were you doing here? And were you the one who destroyed almost all their furniture?" I narrowed my eyes on him, internally chuckling since he looked like a baby caught stealing candy.
He looked down and grinned, "Yeah. But don't worry, I'll have all their things replaced by today."
My eyes widened. "You can?" I asked, shocked.
"Of course I can, love. I am the King of the Alphas." He winked.
Butterflies swam in my stomach, making me feel all giddy. And all those nicknames just made my heart skip a beat.
But our sweet moment just had to end since his eyes suddenly turned black and he narrowed his eyes at me.
Uh oh, what did I do now?
"Now, it's my time to ask. Where did you go yesterday? Why did you leave me? Did you know I have been searching for you since ten in the afternoon until three in the morning? Do you know how worried I was?! What were you thinking? You could've gotten killed!" He started asking all these questions and he looked really mad at me.
