Xander's POV

After leaving Red in Marie's house for them to talk, I then proceeded to go back to the pack house.

I was so proud to have been able to calm Ash while she was hyperventilating. My heart broke when I saw her in that current state. I didn't want her to be hurt. I just want her to be happy.

I didn't want to leave Ash. I wanted her to come with me to the pack house. For her to move in there and to be with me forever. For her to be my mate and to be the Luna of this pack. For her to have my pups. For her to be mine. And mine only.

I wonder what she and her Aunt are talking about. It's probably about the incident last night, where she ran away. I wanted to know what's bothering her. Why she ran away. I wanted to be able to comfort her, to love her and to share my life with her. But I can't. She won't let me in at the moment. She's very careful on what and what not to tell me. And whenever I stare at those dark blue eyes of hers, I can see that she's keeping a lot of secrets from me and from the world.

I wanted to demand her to tell me all her secrets but I guess I have to give her time. We just met after all.

The walk to the pack house was short, or so I thought.

My mind was occupied with only one thing.

Ash.

Damn, I love her name.

As I reached the door, members of my pack bowed their head and greeted me as a way of submission. I nodded back and went straight to my office.

I sat on my chair and started on my paper works. We have been currently on the mission on hunting something over the year.

The Mask.

I have been searching and searching on that mask, particularly, the chosen one. They said that the chosen one for this trineration, which consists of three generations, is a girl. It has always been girls, legend says.

I am determined to find this chosen one and to capture her once and for all. She has something I need and I am not stopping till I found her.

I spent the next thirty minutes on searching on my laptop on things about the chosen one. About what they look like, how to find them, what they do, or what they can do for me to capture her easier.

Just then, the smell of vanilla and honey filled my nostrils. I smiled and my wolf howled.

Ash.

Wait what is she doing here?

I can feel her against the door, about to go in. But she didn't.

I kept on waiting and waiting for her to come in already. What is taking her so long?

Minutes have passed and she still wasn't coming in. I can feel her presence on the same spot for the last ten minutes.

That's it. I have had enough. I went to the door and opened it only to be greeted by my one and only, Ash.

I internally sighed, taking on all her beauty. She really is beautiful, if only she knew.

So after asking her how she was, I let her come in my office.
