Ash's POV
I have been walking for hours now, trying to remember the way back to my Aunt's house. I wasn't lost, of course. I can sniff my way to the house. I just feel drained, physically and emotionally from everything that had happened. I honestly just want to lie down on the grass to sleep and forget about what happened today. But I can't. I have to go back to my Aunt. Who knows what she's feeling right now, knowing that her niece has ran away. I needed to go back, so I kept walking and walking.
Is Xander looking for me? Probably not, he did just make out with a stupid blonde. Why would he make the initiative to find me? The more, care for me.
I bit back the tears that were threatening to escape, telling myself that Xander doesn't deserve my tears. I don't need him.
He may be laughing right now for all I know. Happy that his mate is gone and that he could still flirt around with other women.
All men are like that. They cheat on you and always look for other women. Why do they have to be so cruel? What did I do to him for him to treat me like that?
I shook my head, trying to get rid of the thoughts about Xander. I have been thinking about him all night. Imagining on how perfect his smile would be. Or how it would feel like to kiss those plump lips of his.
Ugh. I shook my head once again. Stupid mate bond. I was thinking of him all over again!
Focus Ash. Focus on heading home. He doesn't need you. He doesn't care for you. He has hurt you so you should hurt him back. Don't fall for him. I reminded myself.
Finally, after more hours of walking, I arrived at HillWood Downtown. I could see that the streets were quiet. Few people walking here and there. I looked up at the sky and saw that it was still the same gloomy dark color. But I've also noticed that the moon was sort of fading away. It must be really early in the morning then, around three maybe?
I spotted my Aunt's house. It was still the same. The shards of glass of the window I accidentally broke twice already were still on the ground, landing on my Aunt's soft, shiny yard.
I couldn't help but miss my Aunt. Even though she still has a lot of explaining to do, she was my only family left. That bloody Blood Moon Pack killed my parents. They killed the only people I loved and who loved me back. They killed the Alpha and Luna of my pack, which resulted for my whole pack to die. All because of them. Now that I am the chosen one and have the power to destroy that pack, I would and I will. I'll kill them I tell you. I'll kill them.
Anger boiled inside me at the thought of it and I had to take deep breathes to calm myself down.
After calming down, I then proceeded to my Aunt's house. The first thing I noticed, beside the broken window, was Aunt Marie Jane's door. It was detached from its hold, like someone broke it down or something.
Oh my, did something happen while I was out doing you know? Did someone rob their house? Or kill them?
I will not let that happen. I will not let people kill my love ones ever again.
But before I approached the house, with my keen senses and high hearing, I heard shouting from people, probably two to three people. I heard things being thrown, walls being mashed and glass being broken. What in the world is happening?
I masked my scent and slowly approached the house, taking light steps with me, being careful not to be noticed.
I recognized some of the shouting was coming from my Aunt and his mate, Dawn. Dread filled inside me as I try to figure out what was happening. I then heard another voice. It was deep and gave it a sense of masculinity. The voice was so strong and powerful, it gave me goose bumps.
