Marie Jane's POV

I was so glad when I found out that my niece, Ash, was the chosen one. Just the thought of her using her powers to fight off rogues and other werewolves excite the hell out of me.

After Ash touched the mask and nothing happened, she then looked at me and smiled, joy and happiness clear in her deep blue ocean eyes. I returned the smile to her for I was also very happy for her.

When she was about to come over in where I was sitting and hug me, she suddenly stopped. I looked at her curiously, thinking on what is happening. She then walked around, both hands on her head and spinning in my living room like crazy.

What the hell is happening?

I looked at her heart and saw that her heart was beating rather slowly. Her heart dangerously beating ever so slower in every second.

My eyes widened when I saw her eyes. It was no longer her usual deep blue oceanic eyes. It was becoming white.

What in the world is happening? I thought she was the chosen one?

Suddenly, she collapsed on the floor. I let out a scream, fear and dread swept throughout my body.

"Ash! Ash! What's wrong?! Stay with me! Ash!" I cried out. I shook her whole body, trying to wake her up.

She didn't budge though. She laid there, in my arms, looking so pale and lifeless. Is she not the chosen one? I'm pretty sure she is though. Is my prophetic vision wrong? It couldn't be.

I then put my hand over her chest, trying to hear her heartbeat.

Thank the Moon Goddess I can still hear it. But it was very faint, as if she was barely hanging onto life.

I didn't want to lose my niece. She's still so young and so innocent, not having the chance to explore the world.

When she started shaking madly, eyes still wide open, showing her white pupils that looks really disturbing, I decided to call my mate, Dawn Fallom, who was probably outside doing god knows what.

"Dawn! Dawn! Help, It's Ash!" I cried out.

In a split second he was there in front of me, worry spread across his handsome face.

"What's wrong honey?" He quickly asked seeing Ash laid across the floor, shaking like mad.

I then explained to him the whole thing as fast as I could since I was really getting worried.

"She's the chosen one?" My mate said.

"I'm not sure. I thought so." I said, sadness filling my voice.

At that time, Ash suddenly stopped moving. I looked at her heart and fortunately, it is still beating a little bit.

"Don't worry, love. She'll be fine. Let's just take her to bed. As long as we can feel her heart beating, that's better than nothing." Dawn reassured me, kissing me in the forehead and giving me a hug, instantly calming me down.

I took a deep breath and release all the stress and anxiety I was feeling and try to relax.

I then waved my hand in the air, closing the box with the mask, locking it, and putting it in my safe box. We then brought Ash to Maya's room to let her rest.

Maya is me and Dawn's 15-year old daughter. She's currently in a wolf camp where all the other young wolves are sent to train and be oriented on what their different roles are in our pack. Our pack's name is the Blood Howlers with Xander King as our Alpha. We don't have a Luna as of now since our Alpha is still at the process of finding her.

As of now, his brother and our beta, Troy Colby King, helps him since our old Alpha and Luna, their parents, has died on a war.

If you're wondering on why me and Dawn are not living in the pack house, where wolves usually stay, then it's because I'm not exactly a werewolf. I'm a witch, and well, witches and wolves don't exactly go well together.

So our Alpha told us that we could still join the pack, but live in another place. So that's how we ended here.

But the pack house ain't far from our house. As you see, our house appears to be in the middle of a forest, but it's really not. The pack house is located further down the forest so if there are any emergencies, we could always go there and ask help from our Alpha.

I was actually planning on taking Ash to our Alpha but I decided against it, remembering that our Alpha might steal the mask and cause more trouble. I just hope that Ash would be okay.

All I can do now is wait.
