Fly With You

R was awakened by a soft ray of light hitting his eyes. He squints his eyes and opens them. The dawn is breaking.

He looks down to see M sleeping soundly, snuggled in his arms. He shields her eyes from the light.

They never got to the room that he got. They fell asleep cuddling on the lounge chair by the beach.

He remembers singing to her til she dozed off. He thought he'd give her 15 minutes to nap before going to the hotel but he fell asleep too.

R watched her sleeping. Her pretty face looked so peaceful and happy. He smiled. It was the first time he woke up in the morning next to her like this. He usually leaves her before dawn to avoid prying eyes on them.

R: *kissed her eyes and nose*

M: *stirs and slowly opens her eyes* Love? *realizes it was already dawn at the beach, sits up abruptly* Bakit nandito tayo? Bakit nandito ka pa? You're late.

R: *smiles, pulls her back down* No. I'm not late. Late lang ako sa plan kong pag-uwi pero as I said my bags are ready and in the car. May time pa?

M: *rests her head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat, R runs his fingers through her hair* What if I fly with you? *she said after a few seconds*

R: *stops, sits up while guiding M up* Ano sabi mo, Love?

M: What if I fly with you? What if I go to Canada with you right now? *looks at R directly*

R: *surprised* Seryoso ka? Sasama ka sa akin?

M: Why not? I can. I can if you ask me to.

R: Pinayagan ka ba? Di ba nga di ka pinayagan nina Tito sa New York?

M: Di ako pinayagan mag-isa pero I'm with you. Di na ako mag-isa nun di ba?

R: Sa palagay mo papayag sila na sumama ka sa akin? Na tayo lang dalawa?

M: *thinks* Baka hindi nga. Pero what if payagan ako?

R: E di let's go. *grins* Kaya lang we're gonna need all the help we can get para magtago. Alam mo na.. Press or ibang tao na pwedeng makakita.

M: What if we just let them know? What if we don't have to hide anymore? *tears start to fill her eyes*

R: *sees her tears, pulls her into his arms and hugs her* Sssshhh... Love... Pagod ka na ba? Sabihin mo kung di mo na kaya. Ililipad kita talaga.

M: Ano ka ba? *kurot sa burger* Emo lang ako sa pag-alis mo. *takes a deep breath* Wala to. Kaya to. I understand that there are things that are out of our hands right now. *sits up* You should go. Lumalabas na ang araw. Dadami na din ang tao dito.

R: *touches M's face* I'll take you with me if I could. I will. I want to.

M: But you can't. Not yet.

They stared into each other's eyes quietly trying to communicate their unspoken emotions.

R: 10 more minutes. Let me stay 10 more minutes then I'll go. *sighs, kisses M gently on the lips, lies back down with M and hugs her tight*

M: *snuggles on chest, sighs, starts singing*

*tears started falling from her eyes*

R: *closes his eyes as his own tears flow*
🎶Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life🎶
*kisses M's hair* Someday, I won't have to leave you and I could just take you with me wherever I go.

M: Someday. *sighs* I miss you so much already. *sits up and turns to R*

R: *takes her hand and kisses it* I miss you too... So much... *voice breaks*

M: *wipes R's tears* Stop crying na. Maga mata mo nyan. People will see. *tries to comfort him while fighting off her own sobs*

R: *sobbing, tears flowing* Ikaw din. Tama na yan. *said in Lola Tini's tone to lighten up the mood*

M: *smiles* You should go now, Love. I'll be okay. Hintayin lang kita. Text mo ako agad when you get there.

R: *wipes off the tears from her face, sighs* I will call you, text you and call you on Face Time every chance I get.

M: Good.

They both fell silent looking at each other. R hugs M around the waist and plants one more passionate kiss on her lips as tears flow down their face.

When their lips parted, their foreheads stayed connected. R wiped their tears off.

R: I love you. I'll be back soon.

M: I know. I love you too. I'll wait for you.

R: *kisses tip of her nose, stands up, offers his hand to M* Halika na. Hatid na kita sa loob.

M: No. I'll just stay here for a while. Atleast pag alis mo, I'm in my happy place. *forces a smile to fight back the tears threatening to drop again*

R: *nods, kisses M on her forehead and her nose* I love you. *takes one more long look at her, sighs, walks away*

R looks back after a few paces, waves at M and throws her a flying kiss before turning his back again so she won't see his tears as he walks away.

M catches his kiss and throws one back which he receives. She watches as he walked away then looks back at the ocean. She closes her eyes, feels the cool breeze on her face and listens to the waves as she dreams of his return, trying to find solace in her melancholy. ❤✈❤🌅❤💏❤
