Sweet Slumber

March 4, 4am, M's condo:

M: *getting ready to sleep, posts one more snap, sends R a text* Home. Good night, Love. I love you. *thinking he's already asleep*

Moments later her phone rings, she answers the Facetime call.

M: Hi Love. Bakit gising ka pa? *smiles at the screen*

R: Hinintay talaga kitang makauwi. Alam mo naman di ako makakatulog hangga't di ka natutulog.

M: *smiles* Aysus! Ang sweet talaga ng shokoy ko. *mock pinches his nose on the screen*

R: Sige na. Higa ka na diyan at patutulugin na kita. *smiles flashing his dimple*

M: Sino kayang unang makakatulog? Hyper pa ata ako. *lies on her bed, sets her phone upright leaning on a pillow beside her*

R: Kumusta naman ang dinner? *lies on his bed too, holding his phone up*

M: Masaya siyempre. Buong family tsaka andun mga bestfriends ko. Ikaw lang ang kulang, Love. Perfect yun kung andun ka. *pouts*

R: Okay lang yun, bibi ko. May You and Me time naman tayo pagsalubong sa birthday mo di ba? Nagkasama din tayo sa baranggay. Time mo naman yun with them. Madalang mo na sila makasama. *playfully pokes her nose on the screen* Smile ka na ha? *kisses phone screen*

M: *laughs* Oo na. Mapuno ng laway mo yang phone mo uy. Na-miss lang kita siguro. Miss kita palagi eh. *smiles*

R: Ako din. Miss kita palagi ng sobra. Gusto ko lagi kang kasama. Laging kausap. Laging kayakap. Laging ka.... *pauses, chinito kilig*

M: Ano ha? Ano? Ka-payb takes??? Naku naku naku ka Tisoy talaga... *wrinkles her nose at the screen*

R: Oo. Bakit ba? Gusto ko ki-kith ka palagi. *throws smacking kisses in the air*

M: *laughs* Ako din. *pressed a kiss on the screen*

R: Sarap naman. Lipad na ako diyan. *he jokes, sighs* In five years, di na tayo ganito. Nandito ko na sa tabi ko bilang Mrs. Richard Faulkerson Jr. *pats the bed beside him, hugs pillow* Bago ako matulog mga ngiti mo ang huli kong makikita, yakap mo ang huli kong mararamdaman, halimuyak mo ang huli kong maaamoy, at mga halik mo ang huli kong malalasahan.

M: *kilig smile, teary eyed* Hala sya. Lumabas na naman pagka-senti mo ha. Pangarap ko din yun, Love. *dreamy sigh* Sigurado ka sa five years? *laughs*

R: Kung pwede lang ngayon na papakasalan na kita. Kaso sabi mo five years pa kaya maghihintay ako. *stares at his phone screen*

M: You have a record of changing my mind about things so... Malay mo... *winks*

R: *chinito kilig* Malay mo din mas maaga magbago ang isip mo. *winks* Ah, Love, may dagdag pa pala ako dun sa sinabi ko kanina.

M: Yung poetic moment? Ano?

R: Oo. Kasi pangarap ko din na sa paggising ko sa umaga, boses mo ang una kong maririnig *both smile* or.. Hilik mo depende kung sino unang magising. *laughs*

M: Hilik ka dyan di ako naghihilik! *pouts*

R: Naghihilik ka kaya. Ang cute nga eh. Sana pala ni-record ko nung minsang natulog ka sa van. *laughs*

M: Sige. Bully pa more... Good night. *moves to end call*

R: Love!!! Wag!!! Sandali!!

M: *stops* Bully ka eh. Ayaw ko na. Matutulog na ako. *pabebe tampo*

R: Wag ka na magtampo, Love. Sige na, kakantahan na kita. Sleep ka na. Good night, Menggay ko. I love you. *flying kiss*

M: *pigil kilig smile* Good night *acting like she's still angry, settles into sleeping position*

R: *smiles, starts singing*

M: *drifting off to sleep, mutters*

He stayed on the line and watched the love of his life in her slumber. After a few minutes, he heard her soft snoring. He took his other phone to record it but changed his mind. He put the phone away. He decided to keep the sound of her gentle purring in his mind instead and let it lull him to sleep.
