sixteen: dejection
—
Seokjin thought he wouldn't feel this devastated and hopeless as he is right now. Four days had passed and he's becoming too drunk to feel heartbroken to his now ex-girlfriend, Irene. Frigidness and bitterness is what he shows towards everything; including Krista.
He hasn't talked that much to Krista for days and even had the guts to ignore her. He's supposed to make Krista enjoy the stay in Korea as he was the one who invited her to come with him. Sucks for him — he is not in the mood to even move around, even to pretend to be happy.
"Oh, fucking promises," he chuckled bitterly and gritted his teeth in anger. He swirled the bottle around the small table at the kitchen counter and stared at the mist it creates outside the bottle of the beer he's taking right now.
He's feeling bored — as usual. Not being able to think straight, he thought of going to a bar nearby. He wanted to tell Krista that he is in the mood to go and distract himself; something stopped himself from asking permission. Who is she so he could ask permission to go outside? It's not as if Seokjin is a child anymore.
Standing up from the seat, he grabbed his phone and his wallet and began to walk away from the room. The door began to creak as he failed to attempt on opening it discreetly in order not to distract Krista from reading a book. He cursed silently as Krista began to sit down from lying down on the bed.
"Where are you going, Jin?" Krista asked softly, dropping the book down on the bed, forgetting to put a bookmark on the book.
"Somewhere," he replied sternly, putting a serious expression on his face.
"Where is somewhere?" she asked, once again, trying to sound like she really cares.
"Why do you seem to care so much?" Seokjin rolled his eyes, retorting. He turned around and immediately went outside, shutting the door loudly. Suddenly feeling bad-tempered, he felt guilt on how he acts towards her. Shrugging it off, he went inside the elevator and pressed the button for first floor.
Krista, being left dumbfounded, is getting sick and tired of Seokjin's current attitude he shows to her. She wanted to understand the reason why he's giving her a cold shoulder is because of being heartbroken but she felt like he's had enough. Felt like she doesn't deserve to be treated like this.
Minutes passed until Seokjin had finally arrived the bar where one of his friends is. The fruity-scented vape, toxic air from the tobacco smoke, strong alcohol, and unfriendly sweats from people scattered inside the bar— obviously not for Seokjin at all.
"Kim-fucking-Seokjin, you're back. I'm glad you sent me a message," Kim Namjoon, his best friend since high school, exclaimed as he hugged Seokjin, giving him a pat on his back. Seokjin hugged him back and huffed loudly. "What's up?"
"Irene broke up with me," Seokjin replied unenthusiastically with a shrug. "I went here to distract myself, you know."
"Ah— yeah, I heard about that," Namjoon said sympathetically while he pulled away from the hug. The both of them went to the alcohol station and sat in front of the bartender. "Maybe being here is the best place to get yourself distracted from everything; love-life to be specific."
The both of them chuckled, but deep down, Seokjin's heart felt like a pang as Namjoon said those words. He knew he didn't want to be this type of guy. He knew that drinking won't make him feel better. What is he even doing here?
