13 - Sister-In-Law?!

Well that was a quick rip off. What if I go to the mall? It's weekend naman, and I did all my homeworks. I am completely free for the whole day. Mom won't mind though, diba? But who am I going with? Ugh. I'll just go with myself.

"Mom!"

As I call my mom, I walked downstairs to ask permission. I'm getting bored, and I think my allowance is quite fine for me. I'll just hang out at my favorite spot in the whole word, Starbucks Cafe.

"Yes Ania?"

I suddenly saw mom arranging random things that made me curious. I was about to ask this, but she looked at me with a poker face. Maybe I'll ask some time around.

"Yeah mom. Can I go to the mall? I did all my homeworks po, and I think my room was all tidy." As I ask for permission, my mom is obviously looking at a small picture on her right hand. I just shook my head to remove that thought away from my head.

I guess that's just a confidential thingy, hindi ko na lang papakialaman.

"You can go, anak." She briefly replied. That's great, but I am still curious about knowing who is on that small picture she was holding.

"Thanks, mom!" I cried, then ran up stairs.

I stopped for a moment, when I heard mom speaking. I carefully tiptoed downstairs, but just half the way of it since I don't wanna get caught. She was talking to that picture! I carefully examined the picture, and I remembered that face.

It was my father!!!

She was crying... I could barely hear her voice, but I heard some few lines. It goes something like this one.

She said while looking at the picture of my dad, "Happy 14th Anniversary, mahal ko... Ang tagal na pala natin, kaso wala ka dito sa tabi ko para i-celebrate ang isa sa mga espesyal na araw sa buhay natin, ang araw kung saan naging tayo. Hindi ka mapapalitan sa puso ko, kahit na sabihin nila na... Wala na raw pagasang bumalik ka, at maghanap na raw ako ng ibang mamahalin. Pero, hinding-hindi ko sila pakikinggan,

dahil ikaw lang ang mahal ko Marcos, ikaw lang at wala ng iba. Hanggang ngayon umaasa pa rin ako na, sana magkita muli tayo. Kahit hindi ngayon, o bukas, sa isang linggo, basta sa tamang panahon man yan, maghihintay ako. May pamilya ka mang

iba o wala, umaasa pa rin ako, mahal ko. Umaasa pa rin ako... Mahal na mahal kita, Marcos. Mahal na mahal, higit sa buhay ko." Then she kissed the picture, and started making a batter.

Mom really loves dad, noh. I stopped my eavesdropping kinda, and went in my room to pick my clothes for my 'gala time'.

I currently arrived sa mall, and yes, mom brought me 5000 peso cash for this day. Well, I think I just got lucky this day to have this kind of allowance, although ayos na yung allowance ko before. Oh well, sino ba naman ako para tanggihan ang grasya?

I am strolling around, until something caught my eye. I am in the department store, and saw Diane with a strange guy. They look really happy together, and they look like having the best day of their lives.

I walked a bit closer, until Diane saw me walking near by.

"Oh wait," She said to the guy she was talking with, "Ate Ania! Glad to see you." She politely greeted, and did some 'beso' with me.

"Ya, uhm, sino yung guy? You know naman I care about you already..." Diane let out a small chuckle secretly, obviously because of what I said. What, masama na ba ngayong magtanong?

"Ate, he's the guy I talked about last, last week. Si Kenneth? Remember? He invited me to go out with him. And, who am I to take down such offer, right?"

I crossed my arms and twisted my head from left to right with what she said. Hay... Kids nowadays.

"Teka, does your kuya know about this? Are you with him?" I asked while raising an eyebrow ; acting as if I'm examining my own daughter. I'm just protective.

Her face slowly turned dull and plain, "No, and, please don't tell him I went here. Ang alam niya, I am with Jessie at her apartment doing some project. Please don't tell him."

Nagulat ako with her confession. Grabe, is Ansel that strict to make Diane lie to him? Parang si mama lang pala 'to eh. Well, just kinda like my mom.

"Is it really necessary for you to lie?"

"Yes. It is." I covered my face in defeat. I think she is just really desperate to be with Kenneth. "Uh... Let's not talk about that."

I nodded as a response, "Ya, I guess? Anyways, wait are you guys dating?!" I cried. Well, it just started syncing in when I realized something.

"Of course not, ate. We're too young..." She answered while laughing, then she went near my ear and whispered, "But I am dreaming to date him someday..."

I let out a chuckle and turned my head ; left to right. "Savage."

I was about to speak when a guy went near Diane, and started placing his arm around Diane's shoulders. I guess it is the guy... Kenneth? I am sure of this now.

"Uhm... I guess you two have something else to do rather than, dating?" As I say this, Diane started gesturing me something, and I started giggling. "I will just leave you and Kenneth alone. I'm also gonna buy some stuff." I said, bidding them 'goodbye'.

They also waved their hands that obviously means 'goodbye'. I walked away by that moment. Ugh. Kids nowadays. I started thinking about Sir Ansel. Where is he? Of course I'm assuming he's in his house.

What is hs currently doing? Uhm... Probably as far as I've known him, he is a really hardworking man. He is probably doing his lesson plans for this coming Monday. Because of what he did to me last night, I think I have to do something that he'll not forget.

I think I should be asking his sister for simple advices? So, I can pull this thing off, right? I must go back to Diane, as soon as before Kenneth brings her in a more further place.

"Diane!" I shouted as I run to her with... heels?! Damn. Why would I wear this 6 inch heels at the mall?! I guess because of my 'katangahan'... I took my 6-inches heels, instead of my flats. But why didn't I notice such thing? Ugh. Nevermind, bitches!

Diane looked to my direction, and went near me so I can catch up on her.

"Ate, bakit? May nakalimutan ka ba?"

"Let's go to Starbucks. I'll discuss something to you. I hope Kenneth won't mind, right?"

"Nah. He won't... He left me by this time already." I smirked then took her hand and left to go to our destination.
