37: Drunken Pain

"Oh my goodness hello," I said quickly, "I'm Andiel. But you already know that. Okay I'm rambling, I'm sorry. I've just heard so much about you, but you know what? Hi."

She laughed, "She talks just as much as you do, Kee! I love her already."

Kili sighed, but laughed as well.

"Ah, don't say sorry my child. I see you are taking great care of him right?" She cocked one eyebrow.

I nodded. "Yes, I am."

She smiled at me.

Dìs is so pretty what the literal fuck? I thought.

I know, she's beautiful.

I jumped and Dìs looked at me in confusion.

"I got a rush of cold, sorry," I told her.

She stood up and I looked down at her.

"Do not be sorry child," she said and smiled at me. "Go on! Dance, you are welcome here."

I grinned at her. "Okay."

"Shall we go?" Kili said to me and I nodded.

He took my hand and led me to the dance floor.

"Kili, I know none of these dances," I hissed at him.

He pulled me closer and said in my ear, "Just follow my footsteps, okay?"

I nodded, and we danced.

It was beautiful, really. Seeing a different culture, and how happy and carefree these people were. Their feet stomped, and their hands clapped, and I finally felt all was right with the world. I loved the man I was dancing with, and I never wanted to be anywhere else. My skin buzzed with the sounds of love, and it dawned on me this feeling was what I was waiting for my entire life.

At one point, amidst all the fun, I began to feel claustrophobic. I politely told Kili I had to get some fresh air, and he understood and came with me.

Our fingers laced together as we stared up at the moon on the balcony.

"I still can't believe this is real," I said while looking at the water. "I'm surrounded by a family that cares about me, I'm immensely happy, and I have the love of my life to keep my company. This is like a dream."

Kili replied, "'The love of my life' has a nice ring to it."

He earned a giggle. He turned me around and kissed me, and I eagerly kissed him back.

"I never want this night to end," I said against his lips.

"Don't let it."

My lips turned in a smile, and he buried his head in the crook of my neck. I wrapped my arms around him, and he did the same. His breath tickled me and I had to stifle a giggle.

"What's so funny?" He asked.

I smiled. "Absolutely nothing."

I pulled back and stared at his features.

"What?" He asked.

I pressed a simple finger to his lips and continued to stare at him.

Have I found you? Flightless bird?

Boy you fill my lungs with sweetness, and you fill my head with you.

The songs mixed in my head and I thanked anybody in the universe for him.
