"Stop being annoying and give it back!" I shouted at my 13-year-old brother, the devil's child.
"Then, take it," he said running down the stairs.
If I had enough energy, I wouldn't be failing gym class.
I groaned.
But this was my phone we were talking about.
I ran down the stairs and into the living room. And out the glass door. And into the backyard. And everywhere.
"Time out," I said.
"Go sit in the nearest corner and think about what you've done," I shouted and my brother mocked me simultaneously.
I still used the time out card, and so often that he would mock me while I'm yelling at him.
He groaned throwing my phone on the grass and sitting down in the corner formed by the fences connecting.
"You look so much prettier sitting there," I smirked picking up my phone and walking into the house.
Just as I stepped into the living room, "Why is Devon sitting on the grass?" My mom asked.
"He is on a time out," I smiled casually.
"Oh, Lee... I have something to tell you," mom said.
My family members and my close friends called me Lee, and sometimes Lia.
"What's up?" I asked plopping down on the couch.
"Your dad called last night... Um, to let me know that... he just got engaged with his coworker," she said with an upsetting smile.
What?!
All I felt after hearing that was anger. I'm not even a slight bit happy for that ass of a human being who is biologically my father. I don't accept him as my father anymore. I call him by his name, Daniel.
"And why are you telling me this?" I asked, "Not like I care, and to be honest, I think you shouldn't care much either."
"He wants you and Devon to meet her," she said softly.
Meet my ass.
"Nope, never happening..." I said.
"Well you better suck it up, the dinner meeting is upcoming Saturday," she said.
"And they didn't even ask me if I wanted to go out not. Just set up the meeting because they wanted to. Also, Daniel didn't even have enough time to call me to let me know such a huge thing... And he expects me to meet her? Fuck, no!" I was shouting by the end.
"Honey, you have the whole next week to think about it. Just attend it for me, please?" Mom said.
I groaned standing up and making my way to my room.

"Devil, leave!" I threw an eraser towards Devil's short figure standing at my door.
I looked down in embarrassment as the eraser sadly hit the wall with a thud, completely missing the target.
He sighed walking in and sitting on my bed.
"Why can't you just leave me al-"
"Don't be sad," he said looking right into my eyes as if he can read them.
"I'm not sad! Just leave!"
"Drop your bitchy act," he stood up and walked out.
I sighed and continued reading the book.
