The reason I came here was to talk to Austin, but that failed miserably as Hunter ruined it just by existing.

The boys went back to watching their soccer game, and I had nothing to do. I put on Austin's jacket that was sitting on the couch and went outside. Austin's house had a really nice backyard, and it looked beautiful outside.

As I stepped out, the first thing I noticed was the purplish sky and twinkling stars. The moon looked just as beautiful as I last remember, if not even better.

I pulled the jacket closer to my body and put my hands in the pockets. My upper body felt warm and cozy, but my lower body was freezing. But I was too busy looking at the sky to care about it.

"So nice," I said softly to myself.

I should come outside more often.

"Wow, it is nice," I heard a very familiar voice. I didn't have to look beside me to know who it was.

"Hmm," I agreed, and finally looked at the person beside me.

"I was wondering where you were for so long," Hunter said.

"Just got bored inside so I thought I would go outside," I said.

"It's a little cold, but nice for talking, don't you think?" He said.

"I guess."

"I've been trying to telling you something," Hunter said softly.

"Well, now would be the perfect time" I looked at him, once again. He was looking right into my eyes, but I looked away.

"I wanted to talk to you about what's been going on lately," He said and I noticed him look away from the corners of my eyes, "about why I'm dating Stacy and stuff."

"You don't have to explain," I simply told him.

Although deep down I kind of wanted to know what I was lacking. Maybe attitude or makeup.

"Yes, I do," he answered, "I don't want you to think I chose her over you, because I didn't."

He thought for a second, "Stacy found out that you often share bed with Austin and you already know that she found that out from Alicia. She used that against me and told me she will spread rumors about you if I dump her."

"What?" I asked, "there is no way anyone can be that childish."

"Well she is. And when Alicia told her that Austin likes you, she started threatening me more."

I was not able to get any words out of my mouth. I never thought shit like this happened in real life, I only thought it happened in the movies. Especially if my own best friend does that to me.

"I just decided that it would be best if I dated her until graduation and once we get out of high school, no one would care about anything," he said looking at me, "and then I can explain everything to you and ask you out again."

"Why didn't you tell me this before? Honestly, if you know me even a little bit, you should know that I don't care what people think of me," I said.

"I know you would act like you didn't care but you really do," he said.

"Then why are you telling me this now? Shouldn't you have waited until after graduation?" I asked.
