Chapter 16: Drugs on fire

"I'm sure Austin and Casper are so happy that you guys joined us" Mr. Dawson said to Hunter and Zach who sat on a chair across from mine.

"No.." Casper said bluntly causing me to snort.

I couldn't help but burst out into laughter as I watched Hunter and Zach's face turn pale from embarrassment. My laughter caused Austin and Casper to laugh only to have the whole group join in. Even Hunter and Zach, whose laugh sounded ever so forced.

We all were sitting around the Bonfire in our chairs after we had finished our dinner.

"Mom, I'll be hanging in the back with Hunter and Zach" Austin said standing up.

"I'll go too" Casper smiled before joining them.

I knew exactly what they were doing and I had to stop them.

"I'll go too" I stood up and followed closely after Casper as we walked through the dark pathway.

"Ow, fuck!" I heard Hunter's scream, "who put a fucking tree here?"

It was too dark to see what has happened. But suddenly, an image of Hunter bumping into a tree trunk came on my mind and I busted out laughing.

"Lia? Is that you?" Hunter called out.

"Um... No?" I said with the best deep replacement of my voice as possible.

"Go back" he said as everyone continued walking into the dark.

We were in the woods now and I was holding onto the back of Casper's shirt as I tried not to trip. Everyone came to a stop, except for me, I bumped my front into the back of Casper whole body.

"Calm down, clumsy" Casper said turning around and holding my hand.

In the next few minutes, there was a bonfire burning. I was scared for a second, thinking we were in woods and this stupid mistake might cause a wild fire. But turns out, we were by the lake, there weren't trees around us which caused me to breathe again.

"Didn't I tell you to go back?" I heard a whisper in my ear and I slowly turned to see Hunter looking down at me.

"I want to be here" I whined.

"Stop whining and go back..." He whispered again.

"I don't want to" I said taking a seat next to my knight in shining armor, Casper, "I wanna get high with you guys."

I knew they were going to do this no matter what but I wanted to try to stop it from happening. Drugs are bad...

"One coolest chick I've ever met..." Casper smirked towards me, "you're like my dream girl."

I blushed at his comment making Hunter groan.

"Whatever you want" Hunter said as he took a bag of white powder from Zach's hand.

They didn't stop me, not even Austin. Maybe he already knew I wouldn't do it that's why he didn't even try to stop me.

"I wanna do it first" I chirped almost jumping from my log seat.

"You gotta share, baby girl" Hunter smirked.

"Can I at least see it?" I requested with a puppy face and Hunter stood with a sigh and passed the bag to me before sitting back down.

I opened the bag just as it was in my hand and turned it upside down on top of the fire. Zach quickly grabbed the bag from my hand and turned it right side up only to notice the content in the bag was completely gone. I looked at everyone with a smirk and they looked like deer caught on headlights.
