Jared and I walked out of Austin's room when he was done giving me advice, I felt kind of bad because I probably won't remember a word he said the next morning.
"Austin, take care of your wife" Jared grinned and pointed his eyes towards me.
I looked at my seat and it was now occupied by none other than, Hunter. I didn't feel like saying a word to him so I planted myself on the carpet near Austin's legs, facing the muted TV in front of the couch.
"Please sit up here, I'll sit down there" I heard someone say and the unexpectedly polite voice belonged to Hunter.
"She's fine near me" Austin said, leaning down and pulling my shoulder towards him until I was leaning on the couch between his two legs, "right, Lee?"
"Hmm" I made an agreement sound which could barely be heard by anyone.
"Didn't I tell you to change into my sweatpants? Why are you still wearing those baggy shorts?" Austin said protectively, "by the way, pull them down, you're showing too much skin."
I pulled my shorts down until it reached my knees as instructed.
"No mom, you didn't tell me to change, you just gave me your t-shirt" I answered.
"Either way, how am I going to feel special if you show this much skin to everyone?" Austin said and I could partially hear him play pouting.
"I'm sorry" I said which made him smile.
While we were talking, Zach and Jared were showing each other something on their phone and I could feel hunter's stare burning holes on the side of my face.
"You ain't special, Austy" Hunter said, diverting his attention towards Austin.
I was now turned away from the TV to face Austin while I was talking to him. It was also easy for me to sneak some glances at Hunter. I was trying hard not to look at him or think about him but it was very difficult when he was sitting in the same room as me.
"What do you know?" Austin winked at me and then looked at Hunter, who then looked at me.
I was analyzing Austin's moves and I came to realization that he was trying to make Hunter feel jealous. I didn't understand why he was doing that, since Hunter wouldn't feel jealous anyways if he never liked me. Or maybe Austin was just being Austin, the flirty kind, saying things he doesn't mean.
Hunter, for some reason, diverted his attention to the muted TV and stared blankly at the pictures playing.
"Pass me a beer" his deep voice then said, I looked up to see the owner. He looked at me, expecting me to do as he instructed.
"I got you" Austin said, stretching his arm out over me to try and reach the beer can that sat on top of the coffee table behind me. While doing that, Austin's face hovered over my head and he took the opportunity to plant a quick kiss on my forehead. He, then, grabbed the beer can and tossed it to Hunter.
Hunter chugged down his drink in no time and reached out for another.
This was the longest time I've been with Hunter without saying a word to him or arguing with him, it felt kind of empty and my heart ached for some odd reason.
After a few drinks and some flirty moves by Austin, we finally called it a night.
The boys, excluding Austin, decided to sleep in the guest room and Austin and I were going to sleep in his room.
