Just as I was in the backyard, I noticed people in the pool, others standing, some even sitting on the grass.
I stood there and took in some fresh air. I felt suffocated inside, not just from the crowd but also from the insults constantly being thrown at me.
I was trying to get my mind off things just as I felt a tap. I was hoping it wasn't someone I wanted to punch in the face. And at this point, I wanted to punch many in the face. I had a list formed in my mind.
"Lia," the familiar voice called. I slapped myself back to the reality and turned around to face Zach. I haven't seen him all evening.
"Oh, hi Zach!" I smiled up at him.
"Hi," he smiled back.
"Didn't know you were here... I didn't see you with your squad."
"Well, Hunter's been acting up with me so I decided I would avoid him for a while," he shrugged.
"Glad we're on the same train," I grinned. He obviously didn't know what I was talking about but he smiled either way.
"I was just about to hit the dance floor, care joining?"
"Hit the dance floor?" I asked confused.
"Yeah, I'll show you!" He said excitedly, gripping on my wrist and taking me back inside the house. We were in the living room in no time.
"So, this is where the magic happens?" I asked looking at people dance. Some of them I wouldn't even call dancing, more like humping slash grinding.
"Yeah, pretty much..." He said looking around just like I was.
I felt two arms wrap around my waist and it made me jump, before I realized that it was Zach. I looked up at his face to see him grinning widely at me. Showing off him perfect white teeth.
"Relax," he said when he felt me tense up. I let go of the breath I was holding and relaxed under his touch.
He took both of my hand and wrapped them around his neck, then his hands returned back to my waist.
"Slow dancing, huh?" I asked.
"Unless you prefer grinding..." He smirked at me.
"I'm fine, thanks," I chuckled.
"Hey... I heard some things about you," He trailed off.
I tensed again. I hope everyone didn't know. It never happened. Not that I cared what others thought but I was just not ready for rumors to spread so fast.
"I didn't say I believe them," he trailed off again.
"They aren't true, the whole thing was made up to make Lucas jealous but it backfired," I frowned.
Stupid Jared. Coming up with stupid ideas. Although his intentions were to help me, it was not planned too well.
"They are calling you whore and shit like that, I don't believe a thing they are saying," He reassured me.
"Well, instead of a bitch, now I'm a bitchy whore," I shrugged it off.
It bothered me when people called me a bitch but then I realized that... I didn't give two shits. Some savage I was.
"You're none of those," he said.
This all happened while I was being rocked left and right with a slight motion. I had to admit, slow dancing was relaxing in a way.
