Headmaster Ozpin watched the security system as it showed information of each of the new students entering this year. Standing beside him was an old friend and fellow teacher, Glynda Goodwitch. "What do you think of this year's new students?" He asked her.

"I know you've taken an interest in Miss Ruby Rose, which I think it is a mistake in having her advance." Glynda answered his question. "She is still too young."

"There was nothing else left for her to learn at Signal." He countered. "She may be young but she is quite skilled. You witnessed it for yourself."

Glynda fought an internal battle before sighing. "Your right. Again." She looked at the screen as it showed the students on the shuttle heading to Beacon. "What others have you taken note of?" She knew he had more to say.

"This year should be quite interesting." He smiled. "Ruby's half sister Yang Xiao Long is someone to watch. We also have our two runaways from Atlas, Weiss Schnee and Rose Voca."

"Voca." Glynda spoke the name with her own level of interest, as well as concern. "The girl has a strange nack for persuasion." He smiled a knowing smile.

"We also have another runaway." He continued. "Blake Belladonna. A faunus girl from the White Fang. Her reasons for leaving them are uncertain but I have my thoughts." He studied the information on said girl. "But we have several students who are on the same level as young Ruby."

At that moment a buzzer went off on his desk. Hitting a button he heard the voice of his assistant. "Sir. Several children are here to see you. They have your personal invitations."

"Send them in." He sat back as he waited for the children to be sent in. He could feel Glynda staring at him questioningly but he ignored her. All things had a time to be revealed. The doors opened drawing her attention to the two girls and one boy that walked in.

The first girl wore a kimono with red petal designs scattered across it and it quite suited her and her katana she wore on her hip. The second girl had feline ears, short hair, and was wearing a red shirt and black pants. The most striking feature of the second girl was the pale red stripes on her cheeks, similar to a tiger's markings. To the regular eye it might seem painted on but the skilled eye could see that the edges merged with the her skin color, most likely a birth mark. The boy's appearance was the strangest of all. He was wearing a cloak that barely covered a large shield on his back. And he was covered in dirt and had twigs sticking throughout his hair. Though the little bit of the shield that could be seen was spotless.

"Hello children." He greeted them. "I'm glad you were able to arrive safely." This caused Glynda to look at him again in surprise, as she should be. His words could mean only one thing. That they had traveled across land through the Grimm infested forest.

The samurai girl spoke. "The cherry blossoms turn to ash and paint the sky red with the fallen."

"Umm?" He and Glynda glanced at each other. Neither had understood what she said.

"She ran into a pack of Beowolfs attacking travelers." The boy translated. "They were beaten by herself and the huntsmen that was protecting them."

"You understood that?" Glynda asked.

"No." The boy smiled slightly. "We started to introduce ourselves before we were called in. She told us how her journey was." He explained.

"How about I continue the introductions?" Ozpin felt amused. This year would definitely be interesting. Then he remembered what had happened a few months ago and stopped. Within this year's new students was hopefully the one they needed. "First we have Miss Iris of the Blade." The samurai girl stepped forward and bowed.
