Getting to know

Luke's POV:

I just got done helping Pa on the farm. We drove past the Flint River. I missed this place.

"So Luther, have you finally decided that you're goin down to Nashville yet?" Pa asked me.

"I don't know Pa I have other things on my mind." I said.

"Well I don't know what that stuff you're thinking about right now all I know is you should be thinking about what your plans gonna be after college." He said to me.

"It's just as important as Nashville Pa trust me." I responded defending myself.

"What about gigs? Have you got your self any yet?" He asked me.

"Actually I might have a gig with a bar down on campus called Buckeyes." I said looking out the window.

"That's all I need to hear son." He said pulling into the drive way.

Caroline's POV:

I helped Mamaw cook some burgers for when Tommy and Luke get home.

"So Caroline tell me how you and Luke met." Mamaw said.

"Well my friends and I went out to the flint river one night. I didn't wanna go swimming that night because I wanted to look up at the stars that night. I couldn't help but notice some guy sitting in his truck awkwardly. I went up and asked him if he needed help his truck, it had broken down. Little did I know that 'some guy was Luke. Then when I went to college I'd seen we had the same classes. That's pretty much how it came to be." I told her.

"Oh sounds quite similar to how me and Tommy met actually! Only we met in high school when he was a baseball player, then we got married had a few kids and 2/3 of them played baseball too." She said.

"Did Luke happen to be one of those 2?" I asked her.

"Yes Thomas was always hitting those home runs actually!" She said excited.

"Thomas?" I said trying not to laugh.

"Yup, Thomas Luther." She said smiling.

She then proceeded to pull out old pictures of Luke, Chris and Kelly.

"Come sit over Caroline I'll show you some pictures of Luther." She said handing me old pictures.

We were flipping through them when I heard Luke say him and Tommy were home.

"The kings have arrived!" He shouted walking through the door.

"The Queens are in the living room." I shouted back trying no to laugh.

"Wait, should I scare Luke?" I asked Mamaw?

"Why not, it'll be funny!" She said whispering.

I hid behind the couch as Luke, and Tommy walked in.

"Where's Caroline?" Luke asked Mamaw.

"She went to the bathroom son, now come over here and tell me about your day." She told Luke.

Just as he walked down closer to Mamaw I jumped out

"Boo!" I yelled.

"My Lord Caroline! You made my heart start racing. But it ain't nothin new." He said leaning down and kissing me.

"Y'all are too cute together." Mamaw said.

Luke smiled in a cheesy way at her.
