Vote for each poem that you like in this book please, it would be appreciated.
Also, although I really am fond of the majority of the poems and prose in this book, be aware I began it at 14 and now I'm almost 25, so it's been a while. The more recent poems are in the middle to the end of the book, and the oldest ones are in the front. I also didn't come out publicly (nonbinary: they/them) until I was older so some of this has misgendering. (Edit: I wrote poetry in various points of view, not just with myself in mind. I'm more referring to end notes for that part).
Now go read and enjoy!

Staring in the mirror
Day after day,
People tell me I'm pretty,
But I can't really say
I believe,
Because so many words
are just lies,
They think that I'm fine,
But they don't see me cry.
I put on my mask
And I say I feel great
And I do but the feeling is smothered by hate.
My life is amazing but
Somehow, not enough.
Good grades, great friends,
But it's getting too tough
To pretend I'm okay,
That I love who I am.
Time's running out;
No one knows who I am.
Sincerely,
Dustin the Great
