The end of the year.
The beginning of another.
Holding onto the past.
Clinging onto each other.
The air is cold,
But we don't care.
Laughter and hopefulness
Fills the air.
Waiting anxiously,
Hands frozen together.
White fluff falling fast,
Landing light as a feather.
On our noses and cheeks;
Our jackets and coats.
Happiness makes us feel
like we could float.
Holding our breath
And forgetting our fear,
And finally screaming,
"HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!"
