Chapter 14: Another Dream

Nathan's POV:

That night I had another dream. It started where the last one ended, the graveyard. It was still night and it was still raining and the only light was from the lightning that was flashing. It soon settled down. I could taste a salty tear run down my cheek.

???: "You are afraid," said a female voice. "Afraid you will lose him."

Me: "Who's there?"

???: "You want answers but can't find them. You want the truth but can't get it."

I looked down. I saw a picture in front of me. It was the picture of the stone on my bracelet. I picked it up. A small wind started to blow and blew the paper out of my hands. I started chasing the paper but I didn't feel like I was moving. I kept chasing it until I saw the edge of a cliff in front of me. I stopped and looked over the edge. I could see all the friends that I had made. Link, Kirby, Samus, Pit, and everyone else was there. Even Maia was there. They were all in a big fight with some dark matter. They kept fighting until the dark matter surrounded everyone and they all collapsed.

I went down to help them. I checked on Link first. His heart wasn't beating. Then some of the dark matter came out of him. It formed into another Link, a dark one. He stared at me with creepy white eyes. The same thing happened with everyone else too. They started walking towards me. I stepped back but someone grabbed me and threw me to the ground. I looked up. It was Maia. She pointed her arm cannon at me and charged up an attack. Everyone else started to chuckle softly.

Me: "Guys, It's me! Your friend!"

They weren't listening. They all started to laugh louder. I looked up at Maia. Her canon was fully charged. I closed my eyes as she shot at me. I heard the blast but didn't feel any pain. I slowly opened my eyes. I was still on the ground. It felt like it was snowing. I opened my eyes completely. Ash was falling from the sky. I got up and looked around. There was ash everywhere. I then heard a noise. It sounded like Eve's.

Eve: "Eevee." She was speaking quietly.

Me: "Eve? Eve, is that you?"

Eve: "Eevee"

I started searching around to see if I could find her. I soon saw what looked like one of Eve's ears sticking out from underneath the ash.

Me: "Eve!" I ran towards her and started moving away all the ash. "I'm coming girl!" I cleared all the ash until I could see her whole head. She looked up at me and I saw a tear start to run down her face. "Don't worry, I'm here now."

I wiped the tear from her face. When I did her head fell over. I picked it up. It was only her head. There was no body, legs, or even tail. I dropped the head and fell back. When I did the ground opened up below me and I started falling. I kept falling until I hit a hard ground. I got up and checked to make sure I was alright. I was. I looked up at where I had fallen. The hole was still there and there was light coming through it. It landed on top of a picture. I went towards it and picked it up. It was the same picture that Maia had drawn for her brother, Alex. I looked at it but only paid attention the the figures in the background. The two hands did look a lot like Master Hand and Crazy Hand but who, or what, was the head in the middle.

I then remembered the dreams I had before I first came to the Smash Bros universe. The setting instantly changed. I was back in my first dream. It was all clear now. I could clearly see Master Hand holding a statue version of Jacob and Crazy Hand was next to him holding a statue version of Maia. I heard my name and turned around. I saw the big head once again. I then looked at the picture Maia drew. The heads looked exactly the same. Same white skin, same red eyes, and same angry look. Everything then faded away and a bright light shined on me.

???: "You have all the answers, now you just need to put them all together."

I looked up at where the light was coming from. I could see a shadow of someone coming towards me. Before I could find out who it was I woke up. I opened one of my eyes. The sun was shining through a window directly in my eye. I sat up. Eve was sleeping silently next to me. I petted her softly and got up to get ready for the day.
