Chapter 22: The rescue

Nathan's POV:

The Pokémon, Shovel Knight, and I managed to sneak in unnoticed. We walked down a couple hallways with no sign of any enemies, traps, or cameras. Soon we found ourselves at a room called 'Cell Room 1'. Lucario could sense Jacob on the other side.

Me: "This is where he is. But how do we get in?"

S. K: "We need a key card." He pointed to a control panel on the side of the door.

Me: "Where are we going to get one from?"

S. K: "An enemy."

We both walked away from the door and started looking for an enemy.

Bomber Man's POV:

Me and the Ice Climbers entered through one of the vents in the side of the castle. The vents were big enough that we could crouch walk in them. We kept moving until we got to an exit. On the other side were some Waddle Des and the control room. 'That was easy' I said to myself. We entered and quickly took out the enemies. I went to the computer. I was surprised to see that the only cameras were in the cell rooms, the vault, and the hanger.

Me: "Ice Climbers, Guard the door and make sure no one comes in." They both nodded and went towards the door. I kept watching the cameras. I could see Maia and Midna enter one of the rooms.

Maia's POV:

After Nathan, his Pokemon, and Shovel Knight entered the castle Midna teleported us to the top of the castle.

Midna: "That was to easy."

We entered through a vent and ended up in one of the cell rooms. We could see a camera in the corner but there was no alarm so Bomber Man must have turned it off. There were several people in the cells. (Here are the people that are in the cells: Samus, Link, Captain Falcon, and Pac Man. Will be abbreviating Captain Falcon to C. F.) We quickly freed them all.

Link: "Thank you."

Me: "You can thank us later, Right now we have to escape."

Samus: "But how?"

C. F: "We can escape in my ship. It should be in the hanger."

Me: "Great, let's go."

We all went towards the hanger.

Shovel Knight's POV:

We kept walking but didn't see any enemies. I was supervised. Then we got to a room called 'the vault'. It was guarded by two crocks.

Nathan: "How do we get past."

Me: "Like this."

I pulled out my shovel and attacked the crocks.

Nathan's POV:

I watched as Shovel Knight took down the enemies. He grabbed one of their key cards.

S. K: "Ok, let's free your friend."

We all went to free my friend. But then I remembered what Susan told me: 'Find the stone. You cannot leave without it.' I turned around and looked at the door. I then looked down at Eve. She was wondering what I was doing. I looked behind me. Shovel Knight and Lucario were nowhere to be seen. I looked at the door and started walking towards it. I grabbed the key card from the other crock and opened the door. It was just like I saw it in my dream. There was gold and treasure everywhere and in the middle of the room was the stone surrounded by glass on a pedestal. There were lasers guarding it. I knew that meant that this was no ordinary stone. I started slowly moving towards it.

Maia's POV:

We soon got to the hanger but we couldn't enter because of all the enemies.

Pac Man: "How do we get in."

Samus: "We could enter in through the vents."

B Man: "Maia, we have a problem."

I put my hand to my earpiece. I gave myself, Bomber Man, and Shovel Knight one so all the teams could be in touch.

Me: "What's happening."

B Man: "Nathan's in the vault."

Me: "What? Is Shovel Knight with him?"

B Man: "No. He's in the cells freeing everyone."

Me: "Oh my gosh. How stupid is this boy? Whatever, I'm going to get him. Stay in touch."

B Man: "Copy that."

Midna: "What's going on?"

Me: "Nathan's in the vault and I have to go stop him. Midna, you're in charge." I left them all there and ran to stop Nathan. "What is wrong with that boy?"

Nathan's POV:

I managed to dodge all the lasers but that's when I faced even more trouble. The thing the stone was resting on was a pressure plate. That explained the cords. I grabbed a bag full of money that looked like it would be the same weight of the stone. I grabbed the glass container the stone was in and quickly swapped the objects. The pressure plate didn't feel any difference in weight. I let out a sigh of relief.

Maia: "Nathan!"

In fear I quickly turned around. When I did I accidentally knocked over the bag. The alarm went off afterwards. Then the ceiling opened and Ridley fell out of it. She screeched when she saw me. I ran towards the door with Eve close behind me.

Maia: "What are you thinking? I told you to stay with Shovel Knight!"

Me: "I know but-" I ran into someone causing both of us to fall down. I looked up at who it was. "Jacob! You're alright!" With him was Marth, Ike, Ash and Pikachu, Mario, Luigi, Greninja, Jigglypuff, Lucario, a Gardevoir, a Garchomp, and Shovel Knight.

Jacob: "Nathan! Boy am I happy to see you again! What's going on right now?"

Before anyone could answer Ridley was directly behind us. He let out a loud screech.

Me: "That's what's going on right now!"

Maia: "Quickly, everyone to the hanger!"

No one had to tell us twice. We all ran as fast as we could towards the hanger.
