A Smash Bros. Adventure (Old Version)

Chapter 9: Yoshi, Duck Hunt, and Dina Blade

Nathan's POV:

The next morning I woke up early. I looked around, no one else was awake except for Samus who was the night watch. She didn't notice me. I opened up my backpack and pulled out a package of pop tarts. I opened it up and started eating. When I was done I grabbed a pair of clothes from my backpack and went behind a bush to change. When I finished I put the other clothes in my backpack. Samus still didn't notice me.

I then decided to go for a short walk while I waited for everyone to wake up. I kept walking until I felt I was a good distance away from camp. I sat down and picked up a nearby stick. I started drawing with it on the ground. I drew the smash bros symbol. I then looked at my bracelet. I then wondered why this was all happening. Why did Zaunt want us? Were my dreams telling me this would happen? Was I meant for something great? I didn't know what this all meant or why it was happening, but I did know that we were going to survive this and-

???: "What are you doing?"

I jumped. I looked behind me and saw Midna floating above me.

Me: "Don't do that to me!"

Midna sat down on the grass next to me and looked at what I had drawn.

Midna: "Are you alright?"

Me: "Yeah, I was just thinking."

Midna: "About your friend?"

Me: "And other things."

Midna: "Like what?"

I stood up and walked towards the river. I looked at it for a few seconds before answering her question.

Me: "I was thinking about what happened at college. Zaunt only wanted Jacob and I. He also tried to kill me. I'm just wondering why. Do we have something he wants? Did we do something to make him mad? Does he have us mistaken for someone else? And if he captures us what is he going to do? He already has Jacob. All he needs is me and..." I let out a sigh. "I just hope Jacob is alright."

Midna: She put a hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry, we'll find him. I promise nothing bad will happen to him, or you."

I smiled. There was a moment of silence that was soon interrupted by the sound of Pit screaming. We ran back to camp and saw Pit getting attacked by a duck. It didn't stop until he jumped into the river. Then from behind a bush came Yoshi and a dog. The duck went over to them and landed on the dog.

Mario: "Yoshi, it's a so good to see you again."

Pit got out of the water and shook himself dry.

Me: "What happened?"

Samus: "Pit needed to "go" and ended up getting attacked by the Duck Hunt duck."

Pit: "Well the good news is I don't have to "go" anymore."

Me: "I would hate to hear what the bad news is."

Pit: "What are they doing here anyway?"

Mario: "Yoshi said Peppy sent them here to find us."

Me: "How does Peppy know we're here?"

Link: "Fox called him before we left."

Samus: "I'm kind of glad he sent them. We could use some help in case we run into any enemies."

Me: "But we haven't seen or heard any enemies this entire trip so I think we should-"

Midna: "Look out!"

Midna tackled me to the ground and a big gust of wind past above us. I opened my eyes and saw a feather that looked like a sword. 'Dina Blade' I said to myself. I looked up and saw Dina Blade turning around for another attack.

Link: "Run!"

We all did as he said and ran as fast as we could. While we were running I heard someone stumble behind me. I stopped and turned around and saw Eevee stuck on a branch. I ran to go save her. When I got there I looked up and saw Dina Blade diving towards us. I quickly saved Eevee and we jumped out of the way just in time.

I looked up. I didn't see any of my friends but I did see a nearby cave. I picked up Eevee and ran towards it. We entered and hid behind a rock. I peaked over to see if Dina Blade was still there. I didn't see his shadow or hear him screech. I decided to get up to see if he was gone. Before I could someone grabbed me, covered my mouth, and pulled me back in. I looked behind me. Thankfully it was Link. He looked at Midna and gestured with his head it go out. Midna did so and checked all around.

Midna: "All clear."

We all walked out of the cave.

Me: "Well that was a fun thirty seconds that I won't forget."

Samus: "And you just had to jinx it."

Me: "How was I suppose to know Dina Blade would swoop in after I said what I said."

Pit: "At least he's gone now."

Link: "Just because he's gone doesn't mean he won't return. We have to get to Smash City before he decides to come back."

Samus: "I agree. We can't have any more close calls like that."

Me: "Then what are we doing standing around here for? Let's get back to the river and start heading towards Smash City."

We all agreed and went on our way to find Smash City.
