I sat in the cold, gray cell. I've been here for a few hours now.

I was utterly bored, but still felt horrible about what I did.

Everyone hates me.

I've never been this hated since my past life. Now that I think about it, I don't even remember my name back then.

I heard the sound of footsteps. I looked up to see Xander standing next to the bars of the cell. He looked worried, a look that nobody has given me.

"Avril, are you okay?" he asked. His bluish gray eyes told me that he was concerned. There wasn't any hate in his eyes, not like Kyle.

I opened my mouth to say something, but my voice didn't produce any words.

"I'm sorry it took me so long to find you here. I was looking for you every where when I heard that you fought with those Hybrids. Then I found out that you were in the academy prison, and it took me a while to get here," he explained quickly, he didn't take breathes between the words.

I just looked at him, feeling pitiful.

"Please, don't look at me like that. It hurts me to see that look in your eyes. Your eyes are the most beautiful blue that Ive ever seen, they would look more beautiful if they sparkle with joy," Xander said.

Even though I felt terrible, his words made me smile a little.

He returned my smile.

At least Xander doesn't hate me.

"Thanks," I whispered.

If I wasn't stuck in this cell I would hug him.

I shivered a little due to the temperature in the cell.

Xander grabbed my hand. His big warm hands enveloped my small cold ones.

"I heard they're gonna let you out in a few hours," Xander said.

"They shouldn't let me out, they should let me rot here," I said.

"Why?" Xander asked, confused.

"I'm a monster," I replied. I said it like it was nothing, like I had accepted the fact that I'm a monster.

"No, you're not," Xander responded.

"Yes I am. I killed about a dozen Hybrids in less than 15 minutes like it was nothing. I attacked my friends! I almost killed the people that are important to me!" My voice got louder, but also weaker with every word.

"That's not you! There was something wrong with you. I may not have known you for that long, but I know that you're not like that. The Avril that I know is a kind and gentle person. If she was a monster then she wouldn't have cared if I was executed. The Avril that I know wouldn't attack her friends. I know for a fact, that that's not you. Something was probably controlling you, because you are the most wonderful person that I've ever met," Xander said, his hand squeezed mine as he spoke. I was glad that he felt this way about me.

I was feeling better about myself. He's right, something was controlling me, that wasn't me.

"Thank you," I replied.

I wanted to just hold Xander in my arms right now. Just by looking at him, I could tell that he was being honest.

I just can't let that thing control me again.

~Few hours later~

"Are you sure you don't want me to stay with you?" Xander asked.

I shook my head. "I wanna go clear my head for a little while."
