I saw a woman. It was dark, the moon wasn't up. She was in the woods. The trees looked like claws.
Her black hair blended into the night. She looked at me with her dark blue eyes. They looked like mine. Except her eyes looked evil and insane.
She was holding a bundle wrapped on a blood red blanket. I heard screaming and crying. It was coming from the bundle.
It was a baby.
"Sh, hush child. You can't cry. You are my daughter. You will be strong and powerful. You will have so much power," she smiled wickedly at that last part. Her voice sounded familiar but also strange.
But the crying continued.
"Hush child, I told you not to cry. You must be strong! Crying shows weakness! You shall not be weak. Remember, you must be powerful. No matter what happens, you will not cry, you shall not dare to even let your eyes water." There was care in her voice, but somehow mixed with evil at the same time.
The view I had in the dream changed.
Her face was in front of mine, her eyes staring into mine. She began to speak.
"You are my daughter and you shall not cry.
No matter what, you will never weep.
Never let a single tear come to your eye.
No matter what, you shall not be weak.
True power is what you shall seek.
Never let those tears fall down.
If you do, in them you shall drown.
Never ever cry in front of me.
Living is what you will not be.
You shall die a painful death.
It shall be your last breath.
Because you are my daughter and you are not weak.
True power is what you shall seek.
So listen to me closely, you shall not cry.
If you do, you shall die."
There was insanity in her voice. She was insane. She looked at me. Her eyes telling me to listen to her.
I stared at her helplessly. The crying had stopped. Crying is a weakness.
"That's my girl," she smiled. She hugged the baby.
She set the baby down, on top of the dead crunching leaves. She kissed the child's forehead and smiled sadly.
"Goodbye my darling, I shall see you again. No matter how far apart we are, I will find you," she whispered before running off. She disappeared into the darkness.
She abandoned the child.
She had abandoned me.

I woke up gasping for air. I was covered in sweat. I was having trouble breathing. I was hyperventilating.
After a while, I calmed down.
It was that dream again! I haven't had that dream since I was 13.
Who is that woman?
Somehow it felt like a curse. It was so strange. It sent shivers down my spine. I truly feared that dream.
I wiped away the beads of sweat on my forehead.
"Avril? Are you okay?" I heard Audriana say.
"I-I'm fine," I whimpered.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah," I replied. I had calmed down completely.
I was too afraid to go back to sleep. I didn't want to relive that dream.
I stayed awake for the rest of the night, fearing that if I fell into slumber I would see the insanity in that woman again.
