Things have been slow lately ever since the talk I had with Matt two days ago. It's Tuesday now, and I couldn't be more bored. I decide to text Ashley, maybe she'll know of something going on tonight, as she usually does.
Me: Hey, I'm bored and want something to do tonight. Got anything in mind? x
Not even a minute later, my phone buzzes.
Ashley: There's a party at that kid Jake's house tonight, I'll pick you up at eight. ;) xx
I glance over at my clock and somehow it's already six thirty. I take my time as I get ready, since I have an hour and a half until Ashley arrives.
I pick out a dark blue sheer dress with black wedges, hopefully making me look at least a normal height. I decided to straighten my hair and throw some foundation and mascara on, not really caring about makeup too much. It's too time consuming and stressful.
I put on some nude lipstick as I hear a door slam, making me jump. I open the bathroom door and see Matt walking towards the front door, so I decide to break our silence.
"Hey! Where are you going?" I ask.
"Out. Goodbye, Alex," He says as he refuses to meet my gaze and stomps out the front door, not bothering to be subtle or quiet about it either. What's up with him? I thought we left things on good terms? God, he's so freaking bipolar.
I shrug my shoulders and ignore his rude actions, I'm not going to let him ruin my night. I waste my time reading until it's eight, but there's no sign of Ashley. I continue reading until it's already nine, and Ashley still isn't here. Where the hell is she?
I call her and leave at least five voicemails until I give up, deciding to walk to Jake's since he only lived about five miles away. At least I'll be getting my exercise for the month.
After walking for three miles, I continually complain to myself for wearing these wedges. Beauty really is pain. I take a seat on a bench nearby to give my feet a rest, groaning and scoffing the whole time.
"Look's like someone's had a rough night." I look up to see Brad as he stands at the end of the bench with his arms crossed, smirking at me.
"My night hasn't even started and it's already gone to crap. So you could say that," I say as I glance up at him and he sits down beside me.
"What happened?" He asks.
Brad and I weren't exactly close, but bedsides Ashley, he was the only friend I had at the moment. He helped me with Matt when I needed him, and he's always seemed caring and kind. But most importantly, he's never tried anything on me, thank god. God knows I don't need any more men in my life.
"Well, Matt and I had a talk the other day after our incident, and he basically told me he wanted to give me some space. He apologized, too. So I thought everything was going good, but then tonight I asked him where he was going and he snapped at me out of nowhere. And to top it all off, Ashley was supposed to pick me up and go with me to Jake's party, and she didn't even show." I avoid his eyes and try to focus on anything else, I don't want him to pity me.
"Is that where you're headed now?" I nod. "So am I. I suggest you stop moping around and letting Matt control your feelings, and have some real fun with me tonight." He stands up and holds a hand out for me to take, and I hesitate.
"You know what? You're damn right. Let's go," I say as I take his hand to help myself up.
We walk together the rest of the two miles, telling stories and laughing our asses of. Brad was honestly really funny and attentive, unlike most of the guys I knew who only wanted one thing.
We finally arrive to the party and make our way to get ourselves a drink, craving the burning sensation to trickle down my throat. I decide on vodka, my favorite. Brad chooses beer, as usual, and my mood starts to lighten up as I feel the buzz start to make its way into my system.
We continue to laugh and talk nonsense for a while longer, until it becomes stuffy in the house because of so many people arriving.
"Hey, let's go outside, these people are annoying the hell out of me," I say to Brad as he nods in agreement and we make our way to the back door.
Brad opens the door for me and I decide to continue my story, because I just happen to be that entertaining. I stumble through the back door and I can't help but laugh at my actions, I'm so clumsy.
"Stupid door, how dare he get in my way," I laugh.
Wow, I'm drunk.
"So as I was sayinggg, we got so freaking wasted we didn't even-" I'm cut off by the horrified look on Brad's face, his gaze on something to the left of us.
With a confused look, I turn my head in the direction in which Brad is staring, to see a couple making out against the railing, clearly drunk as well as they stumble over each other through their kisses. I hear the girl's high pitched laugh and I instantly freeze.
Wait. I know that voice. I know that girl. Ashley.
I peer over to see the other figure, but only making out brown hair and a tall figure. Oh god. Please tell me my suspicions are wrong. Please. Please.
I meet his eyes as he turns his head away from Ashley and I instantly recognize him. Matt.

who would like the honors of slapping Matt? Matt isn't going to keep messing up forever by kissing other girls, I promise
Btw, Brad & Alex aren't a thing and probably never will be. Alex has too many complicated relationships already lol
