ALEX

"What's wrong?" Luke said cautiously, while walking towards me as I entered the front door.

Is it really that obvious? I give him the nicest fake smile I have.

"Nothing, I don't know what you're talking about." I lie.

"Something just seems off is all. If Matt is being an ass, I could-" He says as he grabs my hands.

"No, no! Really, we were just getting some groceries from the trunk. Chill out." I say as I nervously laugh, hoping he won't see through me.

The last thing I needed was for Luke to get involved with this Matt shit. What even is this shit with him? He had once been the sweetest guy that I had ever met, now he was taunting & belittling me? Men.

I rolled my eyes at my thoughts and walked over to the kitchen to set the bags down. No one was in sight, everyone was in the backyard. I placed my hand on the counter to balance myself, today has been such a disaster. This is why I never do relationship. Emotions. The shit that has caused me so many problems in my life.

I soon headed out towards the backyard to join everyone, yet no one even noticed I was there. They were all gawking at Luke. I mean, I can't blame them, but I didn't know looks overrode family.

"Oh! Alex, sweetie! Why didn't you come up and give me a hug already?" My mom said as she pranced over with her arms open.

"Hey mom! I just walked in after helping with he groceries." I said as I embraced her in a hug, finally feeling some peace.

"Well, well. Looks as if the party has already started without me!" A familiar voice yelled from behind me.

Just when I finally started to feel not like not murdering someone.

"Well, well. Who is that handsome young man? Don't tell me he's yours too," My mother said as her hands held my shoulders.

"What? No! No, no, no, no. Of course not. I'm with Luke. That's-" I said as I was cut off by that familiar voice.

"Matt. Nice to meet you, mam. Thank you so much for having me here tonight." Matt said as he shook my mothers hand, clearly trying to aggravate me even further.

Matt smiled from me to my mom, until Luke saved me from torment by calling him over.

"Excuse me ladies, I suppose I'm being summoned," He said as he started towards Luke.

At least he has a cute butt. Wait, what!? This is not happening. Nope.

"Sweetie, did you hear me?" My mother said as she laughed softly.

"Sorry, what were you saying?" I said as I fixed my shirt, already regretting wearing it tonight. It showed off my cleavage, and it complimented my eyes. I can only imagine what my family is thinking.

"Honey, why didn't you tell me you were bringing Luke? Or his friend Matt? If I would've known, I wouldn't have invited..." She said as she started to bite her fingernails, something she always did when she was avoiding something.

What was she talking about? I mean it's not like she could invite Bryan. He moved away right before summer started, thank God.

"Mom. Who did you invite? It couldn't be that bad." I said as I tried to glance at her eyes, but she wouldn't budge.

I suddenly heard loud footsteps approaching my back. My moms eyes suddenly darted from the floor to a figure behind me, panic rushing through her.

"Hello, Alex." Oh god. It can't be. He moved. He moved.

I turn around slowly, hoping my hearing and suspicions have tricked me. As soon as I turn to meet his eyes, I know it's him.

Bryan.

If you guys are enjoying the story so far please vote and comment!

I tried to do something different with the pov, so I hope it turns out well.

The next chapter might be after the argument through Matt's pov or maybe just continuing this from Alex. Not sure :)
