ALEX

*the next morning*

"Hey mom," I say as I take a seat on the stool by the bar, watching my mother cook eggs and bacon on the stove.

She turns around and waves the spatula in her hand at me. "Morning, Hun. What're you doing up?" She says with a confused look on her face.

I roll my eyes at her as I place my elbow on the counter, supporting my head on the palm of my hand. "Oh, hush. I'm up early all the time."

"Whatever you say, sweetie," She winks at me.

I narrow my eyes at her. "To have you know, I'm going shopping today and dragging Brad along," I confidently state.

"Oh, what for?" She asks.

"Matt invited me to come with him to a wedding on Saturday, as friends of course," I make a 'duh' face as I flicker my eyes to her. "So I have to go find a dress."

"Oh, that's great, hun! I bet that'll be fun. I've always loved weddings.." She starts rambling about the weddings she's been to and her crazy stories until my phone buzzes in my pocket.

Brad: waiting outside

"Sorry mom, I have to run, Brad's waiting outside. See you later," I smile at her and pick up my phone and purse, slinging it over my shoulder as I stand up.

She picks up her ringing phone and puts it to her ear, then smiles in acknowledgement to me.

I shut and lock the front door behind me, then walked over to Brad's red mustang. I hop in and take in his appearance, he's wearing black skinny jeans, a red and black flannel, converse and a black beanie. Not bad for a straight guy.

"Let's get this nightmare over with," Brad says as he puts the car in drive and heads towards the mall.

-

"Alex. This is the fifth fucking store we've been to. If I see any more of these old ladies wink at me one more time, I'm leaving," Brad states as he impatiently stares daggers at me while crossing his arms over his chest.

I laugh at his child-like behavior, "It's not my fault they find you charming." I throw a shirt at him, hitting him in the face.

He throws the shirt back at me and narrows his eyes, looking like an annoyed teenager that's been forced to go shopping with his mom.

"Seriously though, why did you drag my ass here? Don't you have any more girly friends besides the slut?" I laugh and continue looking through the rack of dresses.

"Actually, no. You're it for right now," He gives me as sympathetic smile.

"What about this one? It looks pretty sexy, and formal enough to wear to a wedding," He says as he raises his eyebrows in question as he holds up a short red and cream dress with sleeves and a cute design.

I scrunch my eyebrows together in thought, because I usually never wear tight dresses like this. "Try it on. You know you want to." He dangles the dress in front of me.

(The dress in the photo above is the dress brad has picked out for her)

I roll my eyes my him," Fine." I grab the dress out of his hand and his eyes glimmer with satisfaction.

I make my way to the dressing room and try the beautifully designed dress on, and I look at a different person in the mirror. The dress is short, shorter than what I'd usually wear, but it's cute and hugs my curves in all the right places. It actually make my hips look a tad wider and makes my  ass look decently sized for once. Not bad.

I buy the dress and continue to slap Brad on the arm for telling me he has better taste than I do. We walk towards the exit we came in at, until I see a familiar face sitting down at the food court, eating a sub and drinking a smoothie.

Bryan fucking Adams.

The one that happens to be my ex and Luke's cousin.

Does he ever go away? He surely must have somewhere else he could be or a girlfriend to cheat on, most assholes do.

Brad notices my expression change and follows my gaze to Bryan.

"Oh, shit," Brad whispers.

I guess I stared him down too long, and his eyes finally meet with mine. He gives me his famous devilish smile and I want to slap it right off his face. I smile back at him as an idea enters my mind.

I walk over to Bryan, leaving Brad with jaw at the floor. I continue walking to him until I'm at his table,  and I reach for his smoothie. I quickly take off the lid and dump the contents of the cup onto the top of Bryan's head, still smiling down on him.

His eyes are quickly filled with rage as he stand ups, making the smoothie drip down his neck and shirt.

"What the fuck, Al?!" He yells.

"Don't you ever fucking call me that again. Much less, talk to me, or even smile at me you asshole," I say and quickly turn around on my heel and make my way back to a laughing Brad.

"What the hell did I do?! If you should be pissed off at anyone, it should be Luke, not me!"

What? What is he talking about? More lies, probably. I shake my head at his attempt at distracting me.

I raise my middle finger up in the air as I make my way to Brad, and walk out to the car with a proud smile planted on my lips forevermore.
