Sky City, 6:00 p.m.

Ryan landed on the building with a stumble, but this time he managed to keep his balance. As he turned around, he found himself face-to-face with the Blood Girl, still concealed in her hood and mask.

"You got my money? I ain't got time to waste."

"I got like ten dollars."

"It'll do." She snatched the money from his hands with her tendrils, "So...Scale Boy, what can you do?"

SNIP!

Claws popped out of his fingers, and she reacted with pleasant shock.

"Okay! You're Claw Boy now."

"My name's Ryan-"

"Whatever. Claw Boy." She chuckled, "So first things first, we gotta work on your landings. "

"And how do you suppose we do that?"

"We race.  Got an idea of where you wanna go?"

"Well... my brother's playing a basketball game right now, we could stop by that." Ryan suggested, "So, Phoenix High."

With that, the Blood Girl launched herself into the air with her tendrils, flying overhead.

"Wait, you didn't say go!" Ryan rushed to follow.

"I shouldn't have to!" She laughed as she dove into an alley, using her tendrils to swing off anything to propel her forward.

As Ryan chased, he fell from the sky, crashing into a trash bin, groaning as he fell out, the smell of garbage assaulting his senses.

"Wow, you stink! " She laughed as she swung overhead, " Haha, get it? "

She blurred through the alleyways, chaining parkour and wall jumps together with effortless momentum. Ryan struggled to keep up, his movements rough and reckless. He briefly surged ahead—then misjudged a leap and crashed straight through a billboard.

"Oh yeah, let's try to follow rule one...keep it on the down low." She laughed as she zipped past him, "If I win, that's an extra 20!"

Sky City Gym, 6:10 pm

Max dominated the court, using his height to dunk, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Prince watched from the sidelines, his expression dark as Coach Rivers glared at him.

"You're lucky your ass is even on the bench and not in jail for the stunt you pulled earlier this week." Coach Rivers said sternly.

As the game intensified, Max caught fire, scoring from everywhere on the court. Across the floor, Prince locked eyes with an opposing player and noticed a snake tattoo partially hidden beneath their sleeve.

Suddenly, the snake-tattooed player charged at Max, causing a foul on a play! Max was sent crashing to the ground, clutching his ankle in pain. The referee blew the whistle to stop the match. Coach Rivers rushed over as Max groaned in pain, holding his ankle.

"Richards? You okay?" Coach Rivers asked with concern.

"My ankle... damn it..." Max muttered.

Coach Rivers sighed and called for a timeout, signalling for the team to gather around.

"I'll be fine..." Max winced as he tried to put weight on his injured ankle.

"I'd rather you take it easy, buddy," Coach Rivers replied, helping Max off the court as she turned to Prince, her expression stern, "Guess your ass just got lucky. Get up and go on the court."
