One month later, Neon Labs, 2:45 p.m.

Ryan moved with agile grace, his eyes fixated on the bright screen of his phone. Hip-hop music blasted through his headphones, his fingers snapping to the beat as he flipped up his phone and began recording everything in sight as he danced through the halls.

"Could you believe that for a lab this state of the art, they don't ever seem to check the security cameras? " Ryan chuckled, "I mean, the security guard is usually asleep at the front anyway. "

FLASH!

"And here is the... well, I'm not allowed in that room, but it's the one with all the cool robot parts! " Ryan laughed at the camera, "And this room, well, I don't exactly know what this room has..."

Ryan paused in his tracks, staring at a large vault-like door in front of him, a keypad on the wall beside it. Suddenly, the door creaked open, ominous blue smoke snaking around Ryan's ankles. Frantically flailing his arms, Ryan ran for cover and hid behind a nearby corner.

The door  opened as two scientists emerged from the foggy mist. The first man, held a syringe filled with glowing teal liquid. His colleague, hair unkempt and covered in dark red flakes, impatiently scratched at his head.

"Oh, shoot..." Ryan whispered to his cameras, "Now would I get in trouble for the no filming rule or...?"

Ryan slowly peered the camera around the corner and zoomed in, his eyes going wide for a moment.

"Wait, is that blood? " Ryan zoomed in on the red splatters on the bottom of the scientists' coats and shoes.

He raised the camera up again, managing to capture the scientists entering the passcode to lock the vault.

CLICK!

" Finally, some goddamn progress. I thought we'd be running trials forever. " The man scratched his hair again, "What's with the pout? You don't seem impressed. "

"Because more work has to be done, that elemental was successful, but the overall success rate is too low on application. And we're running out of test subjects, so we need to crack the code with these. " The other scientist looked through the metal cupboards nearby and said, "As easy as it would be, another public test would help us work faster but they'd catch on if there's another mass...you know. "

" You're right...I'm just happy for the small victories. " His colleague sighed as they searched through the drawers, " I got it. "

Ryan zoomed in as they pulled out some gas masks, and some kind of syringe full of iridescent teal fluid. The scientists put in the passcode again, before disappearing behind the large metal door again.

"Well...that was something. " Ryan paused his recording and sent it to Emma.

BEEP!

"You know you're not supposed to be recording. " Emma's reply was faster than expected.

"Skip to the end; we've never seen that liquid before, right? It doesn't look familiar. " Ryan's fingers danced across his screen as he sent his message.

"Hold on..I think that's the G formula or whatever. Why are you even near that? It's off limits for us. "

"How do you know what it is?"

"Okay, maybe I did some snooping too, but that's besides the point." Emma added a laughing emoji, " Get your ass back here before you end up in trouble. "

"Right."

As Ryan made his way back to his station, something caught his eye—a drawer with a keypad lock nearby. Remembering what he had seen in the footage, he rewatched the video and swiftly inputted the passcode. With a metallic gasp, the drawer slid open, revealing its contents. a sly grin, he video called Emma and aimed his camera at his face.
