Chapter 39

I sat besides Tony holding his hand as we were in Happy's hospital room. The Mandarin striked again at the Chinese Theater in LA. Happy was there and got caught in the cross fire. And Tony was pissed when he found out.

The nurse walked into the room checking on Happy's vitals etc. She picked up the remote. That's when Tony spoke up.

"Hi." He said.

"Oh." She said in surprise. He chuckles.

"Do you mind leaving that on?"

"Sure." He stood up.

"Sunday nights. PBS. Downtown Abbey. That's his show. He thinks its elegant." He explained. I stood up as well. "One more thing. Make sure everyone wears their badges. He's as tickler for that sort of thing. Plus, my guys won't let anyone in without them." He said as he walked out with me behind him.

"Are you ready to face the press?" I asked him once we exited the elevator.

"Uh sure. You?" I shrug.

"Sure."

We exited he hospital and we were swarmed by reporters.

"Our sources are telling us tat all signs are pointing to another Mandarin attack. Anything else you can tell us?" One reporter asked.

We reached the car. He opened the door and i got in first.

"hey Mr. Stark. When is somebody gonna kill this guy." A male reporter asked. "Just saying." He said holding his phone recording Tony.

"Is that what you want?" Tony asked.

This can't be good. Then again when is it ever is?

"Here's a little holiday greeting I've been wanting to send to the Mandarin. I just didn't know how to phrase it until now. My name is Tony Stark and I'm not afraid of you. I know you're a coward. So I've decided that you just died pal. I'm gonna come get the body. there's no politics here. It's just good old-fashioned revenge. There's no Pentagon, it's just you and me. And on the off chance you're a man, here's my home address. 10880 Malibu Point 90265. i'll leave the door unlocked." i looked at Tony as if he had two heads. "That's what you wanted right?" He asks throwing the reporters phone at the wall. "Bill me." He said before getting into the car and closing the door.

"Are you freaking insane?" I yelled once he starting speeding off.

"No....well maybe it depends." He responded.

"Tony you do realize that we both have a target on us now, right?"

"Babe. Relax everything is going to be fine. Everything is going to be okay." He reassured me.

"Tony that's not the point." I yelled.

"Look, I know. Okay? Just trust me. Can you do that? Please?" He asked looking over at me. I sighed.

"If we get this out of this alive I'm kicking your ass." He grinned.

"That's my girl."

I rolled my eyes.
