Chapter 58

I helped direct people to the bridge to leave the town.

All of a sudden Ultron's bots emerged and the fight began. I jumped up onto a car before hopping onto a bot. I dug my hands into its chest before ripping it in half. I grabbed an arrow and got my bow ready. I aimed it and released the arrow hitting one right between it's 'eyes.' 

The ground began to shake. I saw the cracks in the Earth. Before I knew it the ground began to lift.

"shit." I muttered jumping onto a truck. I stood at the edge to get a running start. I ran across and jumped up grabbing the land that was being lifted into the air. I felt my grip starting to slip. I let out a yell as I let go only for someone to grab my wrist.

I opened my eyes and saw Pietro.

"I got you." He said pulling me up.

"Thank you." I told him.

"Do you see the beauty of it? The inevitability. You rise, only to fall." I hear Ultron's voice play out through his bots. "You, Avengers, you are my meteor. My swift and terrible sword. And the earth will crack with the weight of your failure." I took off down the road where the bots were. "Purge me from your computers, turn my own flesh against me." I shot a bot with an arrow. "It means nothing. When the dust settles, the only thing living in this world will be metal."

I took a special arrow out and aimed it at one 10 feet away from me with 4 surrounding it. I hope this works. I released it. I watched as it hit the one in the center and hitting the ones around it.

"Props to you Clint." I said to myself.

"stark you worry about bringing the city down safely. The rest of us have one job, tear these things apart. You get hurt, hurt them back. You get killed, walk it off." Cap tells us.

I shot several others down. I went to grab another but had no more.

"damn it." I shouted tossing the bow to the side. I pulled out two taser disks and threw them at Ultron's bots shutting them down.

A loud scream was heard from behind me. I whipped around as a woman and two children were being cornered by two of the bots. I ran to them. 

"No" I yelled as they were killed. I skid to a stop. I wasn't fast enough. I looked in horror. The 2 bots turned towards me. I clenched my fists.

"You bastards" I say through gritted teeth as I lunged forward and punched both of my fists through it's chests, my fists making contact with the ground in the process.

"We're clear here." I hear Clint through the com.

"We are not clear" I hear Cap yell. "We are very not clear." He sounded like he was fighting.

"I'm coming your way Cap hold on." I told him.

I made my way to the bridge.

"Good to see your alive Nat." I said. She smirks.

"It's not that easy to get rid of me." She stated.

"Touche." 

The three of us ran forward as the dust clouded our visions.

"The next wave is gonna hit any minute. What do you got Stark?" Cap asked over the com.

I've lost sight of Nat.

"Huh? Nothing great. Maybe a way to blow up the city. That'll keep it from impacting the surface, if you guys can get clear." Tony told him.

"I've asked for a solution, not an escape plan."

"Impact radius is getting bigger every second. We're gonna have to make a choice."

"Cap, these people are going nowhere." I told him.

"She's right." Nat said. "If Stark finds a way to blow this rock-"

"Not till everyone's safe." I looked at him in disbelief.

"Are you serious?" I asked him. "Everyone up here versus everyone down there? There's no math there."

"I'm not leaving this rock with one civilian on it."

"I never said we should leave." I told him looking off the city at the clouds which were now below us.

"There's worst ways to go." Nat stated. I nodded in agreement. "Where else am I gonna get a view like this?"

"Glad you like the view, Romanoff. It's about to get better." I hear Fury on the radio.

"Holy shit." I said as a helicarrier emerged.

"Nice right? Pulled her out of mothballs with a couple of old friends. She's dusty, but she'll do."

"Fury, you son of a bitch." Cap says.

"Ooh. You kiss your mother with that, mouth?" The lifeboats on the helicarrier dispatched.

"This is SHIELD?" Pietro asked.

"This is what SHIELD is supposed to be." I told him.

"This is not so bad."

"Let's load them up." I nodded as I ran off to aid the civilians.

"Here we go. Here we go. Let's move." I said as people ran past me and onto the carriers.

"Avengers, time to work for a living." Tony announced.

I ran off into the church where Tony, Thor, Vision, Wanda and Pietro were.

"Romanoff you and Banner better not be playing hide the zucchini."

"Relax shelhead. Not all of us can fly."

I chuckled before stabbing my knife into the bot's skull.

"If Ultron gets his hand on the core we lose." Tony states as the hulk made him appearance.

"Is that the best you can do?" Thor yelled at Ultron. Ultron raised his and and I saw a whole army of his bods appear.

"You just had to ask huh?" I asked Thor.

"This is the best I can do. This is exactly what I wanted. All of you against all of me. How can you possibly hope to stop me?"

"Well, like the old man said...together."

And all at once they came at us.

I shot the first one in front of me then another. We all began to show them what we got. And one by one they get taken down. I swung my fist knocking one back. I put my guns back in the holsters before my whole body heated up. I jumped on one, tearing it apart. Swinging my leg I knocked another's head off. 

I grabbed on to two different bot's legs and swung them into a wall, destroying it.

"Stark." I looked up at Pietro He held his hand out. I grabbed it and with his sped he spun us allowing me to kick the bots heads off. I quickly high fived him.

I noticed Vision and Ultron fighting leading it outside. Vision, Thor and Tony all went at him with finally Hulk punching him sending him flying.

Ultron's bots started to flee.

"They're leaving the city." Thor stated.

"We can't let them, not even one. Rhodey." Tony says.

"On it."
