I walked through the rubble of the house as the detective took pictures. I picked up Tony's iron man helmet.

I leaned my head against it as I sniffled. Then there was a light beeping sound. I pull back and looked at the helmet before sliding it on.

"Stark secure server. Retinal scan verified." I hear a woman's voice say.

"Ana, its's me." I gasp once I heard Tony's voice before breaking into a smile. "I've got a lot of apologies to make and not a lot of time." A tear slowly slid down my face. "So...First off, I'm so sorry I put you in harm's way. That was selfish and stupid and it won't happen again. Also, it's Christmas time and the rabbit's too big. Done. Sorry.  And I'm sorry in advance because..." He paused for a moment. "I can't come home yet. I need to find this guy. You gotta stay safe, that's all I know. I just stole a poncho from a wooden Indian." I laughed at that part before the helmet shut down. I took it off. I carried it with me as I walked over to where Maya was.

"We need to go." I told her. She nodded.

And lucky for us her car wasn't destroyed.

-

"Why were you at the house in the first place?" I questioned Maya as I sped down the road. "What was so important that you had to speak to Tony?"

She was silent for a moment.

"I think that my boss is working for the Mandarin." She stated. I nearly slammed on the breaks. "So, if you still want to talk about it I suggest that we get ourselves someplace safe."

"You think, your boss works for the Mandarin? Tony said you were a botanists so how does that work with-" She cuts me off.

"That figures. What I actually am is a biological DNA coder running a team of 40 out of a privately funded think tank. But sure, you can call me a botanist." She said.

"What's your boss's name?" I asked.

"Yeah, Aldrich Killian."

I looked at her confused.

"The name sounds familiar but I don't know who he is."

-

"What happened? Before he built rockets for the Nazis, the idealistic Wernher von Braun dreamed of space travel. He stargazed." She lightly chuckled. "Do you know what he said when the first V-2 hit London?" She asked. I motioned for her to continue. "The rocket performed perfectly. It just landed on the wrong planet. See, we all begin wide-eyed. Pure science. And then the ego steps in, the obsession. And you look up, you're a long way from shore.

"You can't be too hard on yourself, Maya." I told her, putting a some what comforting hand on her arm. "I mean...you gave your research to a think tank."

"Yeah, but Killian built that think tank on military contracts."She said.

"That's what Tony's company use to do." I told her. "So, don't judge yourself.

"Thank you Ana. I really appreciate that." I lightly smiled at her turning away before freezing. I grabbed the beer bottle that I had near me and broke it. Maya jumped up in surprise as  I held it to her throat.

"What the hell are you doing?" She yelled panicked. I glared at her.

"Who are you?" I questioned her.

"What are you talking about."

"I never told you my name." I lightly growled. "You work for the Mandarin, don't you?" I questioned her. We were interrupted by a knock on the door. I got off of her. "Don't move." I warned her as I walked to the door. It revealed a waiter.

I put a strained smile on my face.

"Hi, good evening. Come on in." I told the waiter. A man ran up behind the waiter and snapped his neck like a twig. I tried swinging the broken glass bottle at him but he grabbed my wrist. I swung my leg at him making him hunch over a bit.

He took the bottle from me, letting it smash on the ground. He grabbed me and slammed me against the wall, wrapping his hand around my throat choking me.

I tried to pry his hand off of me but hell he was strong.

"So, you want to tell me why you were at Stark's mansion last night?" The man asked Maya.

"I'm trying to fix this thing. I didn't know you and the master were gonna blow the place up."

"Oh, I see. So, you were trying to save Stark when he threatened us?"

"I've told you, Killian, we can use him." Maya told him.

Wait so this is the Aldrich guy?

"Look, if we want to launch product next year, I need Stark. He just lacked a decent incentive. Now, he has one." She stated.

Killian looked at me before grabbing my head and pushing it back.

I slid to the ground as black spots clouded my visions.
