Basically, Reverse Reapertale version. Enjoy!
It was a beautiful day, full withe eternal life magic. Birds were singing, flowers were blooming...Yes, the perfect day for a game of catch. No one would expect the Death Goddess to be here, but she was, Lady Death and Mister Life were in Life's domain, talking like they were old friends. They weren't aware, however, about how different they really were.
"Mortals are so annoying." Toriel, the Death Goddess, said with a snappish tone. "Today, one was trespassing in my territory, trying to "save" her brother." Toriel contuined her firey rant, glancing up to the sky. "Don't they understand? It's the natural order. His time was up. Why can't mortals accept that?"
Sans, the Life God, sighed fondly. Finding, secretly, that she gets cute when she gets angry. "Welp, I'm kinda bad at this, and heck, I don't do my job half of the time. Although, I think that they understand that life is precious, and she just didn't want to let go of it just yet."
"Can't they just WAIT? She will eventually wind up in the same place." Toriel growled, still puzzled.
"Waiting can feel like death itself. No offense." Sans chuckled as her face darkened with even more confusion.
"You know what? Imagine if I died, and left you behind, Tori?"
Toriel burst out laughing, apparently amused by this concept. "Impossible, Sans! Your a god, and even if you died-"
"What if I went away, to a place you can't find me?" Sans said quickly, feeling he had to explain, to help her understand. "So, we couldn't see each other ever again?"
That seemed to struck a nerve. She let out a small gasp, then clasped her paws together. "Why...would you do that...?"
"Cause, I had no choice." Sans looked over to her gentlely, wondering where this will take him.
"What do you mean you had no choice..." Toriel had a hard edge to her voice now. She flipped her hoodie up like she does when she wants him to stop talking.
"Someone took me away. And you won't ever know if you will see me face again, and it feels like you can wait a eternity."
"Sans-"
"That is what the mortals feel, I think, and if they loved that person very much...and if they had enough determination to search for them..."
"Sans-"
"If you lost me, Tori, would you search?" Sans was on a roll now, not stopping for anyone. "What would you give up to find me?"
Sans shrugged, and sighed. "Never mind. It was just a example. Heh, I kinda bad at this anyway..."
Toriel's eyes flashed red, and she disappeared, just as Sans turned around.
"Tori...? Heh." Sans snapped his fingers and teleported away.
