Snowdrake fluffed his feathers haughtily. His usual happy, joke loving attuide was replaced with a quite cold demeanor. He glared back at his father, who was long behind him. Although he promised not to run away again, his dad was making it hard not wanting too.

His dad and him were arguing again. He thought that his puns were great, but his father had other opinions. His dad told him that his jokes had no future if there were that bad. Snowdrake wanted to stop the argument, so he told his dad one of his favorites.

"Aw come on, dad, ice see you are mad!" Snowdrake was the only one laughing.

"Even the narrator's jests are better than yours!" His dad had yelled. Which, I have to add, was probably true.

Snowdrake stopped his chucking. That was a declaration of war. So, throughout all of lunchtime, it was a all out battle between these two ruffled birds. It seemed to anyone who walked past, they were just trying to out-shout each other. There were both determined to make the other see their side of the argument.

Luckily, before anything bad happened, Chillidrake came over and acted as a ambassador to Snowdrake's dad. Wanting to help Snowdrake in handling his father, Chilidrake asked Snowdrake to tell him a joke.

Snowdrake was already gone.

Snowdrake sat down in front of Grillby's, the place to go for some good grease.Despite living in Snowdin his whole life, his feathers quivered meaningfully. He glared at the ground, as if he wanted to use laser vision and melt it to a puddle. He clacked his beak together, muttering to himself. His mutters were completely inaudible, and didn't make much sense either. He was so busy doing his monolouge, that he didn't notice a dripping monster coming over.

He didn't see her until she was upon him."Snow...snowy." She said importantly. Snowdrake jumped back to reality. Snowdrake watched her for a second, confused a bit on why she is here. She repeated herself again. "Snow...snowy."

Snowdrake's edges of his beak turned up as he laughed. His mother had a bit of difficulty talking normally, and yet he seemed to understand her more that way. "You want to know why I'm mad?"

His mom nodded. "Ye...yes." she confirmed. Snowdrake shook his head, not wanting to bother her with want seemed a bit embrassing now. "Well, just some dad trouble. But it's fine."

She thought for a moment, then sat next to him. "Sn...owy said ?" It sounded like a question. "Um... The argument was about my puns..." He toke a guess on what she talking about. It sounded even worse when he spoke it out loud.

She nodded knowingly. Maybe he guessed right. The sat in silence for a long moment, getting a few looks from some other monsters entering Grillby's. Snowdrake was about to get up and leave, but then his mother spoke.

"Snowy! Sno...wy." she looked excited. She jumped up and down, getting some of her on the snow. Snowdrake eyes widened. "Hey! Calm down, alright? What do you want?" Then he realized that wouldn't do much good, but she calmed down anyway.

His mom smiled in three different places, and gestured to him giddly. Snowdrake cocked his head. "I don't know... what you mean..." He dug his talons in the ground. "What do you want me to do?"

She clacked her beak joyfully. Her eyes shining, she spoke. "Sno...snow puns..." She looked pleased with this statement and continued. "I'll...tell you one I...thought of..."

Snowdrake nodded, understanding now. She wanted to cheer him up with some jests. A sort of joke exchange. Now steadily getting more excited, he turned fully to her. "Okay, I get it. Tell me one!" Her excitement was very contagious, and he was down with it's flu.

"I meet a.... he told me he was... and I told him he was being a bit flakey!" She said, now bursting in a fit of giggles. Snowdrake joined her, a bit hysterically to be honest. "Well, I will go then!" Snowdrake cried out, delighted.

"Okay... so what's my favorite ceral?" Snowdrake trailed off to see if she would guess. "I... don't know."

"Frosted!"

They went like after a while, until it started to get dark our and Grillby was closing off shop. Grillby watched them for a moment, then decided it would be rude to interrupt this mother and son moment. He walked off, whistling somehow, and went to his house.

He heard many puns like that from a certain chubby skeleton.

Snowdrake and his mother didn't notice him leaving as they went through more jokes. This time some knock knock ones.

"Knock knock." Snowdrake shook in anticipation for his mom's response.

"Who's... who's there?" She said appropriately.

"Snow." He merrily began.

"Snow... who?"

"Snow ice skating today, the ice is too thin!"

His mother cackled fondly. "I... got one! Knock... knock."

"Who's there?" It wasn't Snowdrake who spoke.

They looked up to see.... "Snowy!" His mother exploded. It was Snowdrake's father.

Snowdrake's dad glared at them. "Where were you? At Grillby's? I was calling for you to come to dinner for 20 minutes now!"

His mother didn't look guilty, or even sad for that matter. Instead, she pressed herself against her husband. Her version of a hug. His dad's feathers and shoulders relaxed. "Whatever. I'm just glad your both alright."

Snowdrake got up. "Hey... I'm sorry dad. For... arguing and stuff." Snowdrake began awkwardly. He decided that the snow was the best beautiful thing he seen that day.

"...No, son. I'm sorry. I'm a terrible father. Listen, I think that maybe... puns could be good..." Snowdrake tear his gaze from the pretty snow to look at his dad.

"Maybe... I can teach you to make better jokes... or just let you play in front of a crowd-"

"An ACTUAL crowd?!" Snowdrake jumped up and down in a sudden twist of emotions. "An ACTUAL crowd, dad?!?"

He nodded. "Well... maybe just you and your mom at first... but then we will see-" Snowdrake interrupted and pressed himself against his dad.

"Thank you. Thank you, thank you so much!" He could have a future. Other than just telling traveling humans his jests. He finally has a chance to be like his dad.

"Thanks... for not giving me the cold shoulder!"

"We have a lot of work to do..." But the Snowdrake family laughed anyway.
