IT'S ALL JUST A BAD DREAM... I BLAME SKYRIM.

I'm here to talk to you guys about a dream I had of UNDERTALE.

Now, this usually happens a lot, maybe even once every two days. However, probably because this one was recent and the subject matter was... chilling, this nightmare just stuck with me.

So, I want to share it.

WARNING: CREEPY STUFF AHOY! GRIEF AND SUGGESTED DEATH, WITH A LITTLE BIT OF CHARA IN IT.

I'm going to put this in first person.

Anyway, it started out with me being Frisk...
------------------------------------------------

I stepped carefully to the imposing green shadow of the door, swinging it quietly closed. The white Christmas light attached to the knob swung as well, in a hypnotic, but violent arc. It sent the darkness scurrying along the walls and sparkled in my eyes.

"That's good." A familiar voice spoke softly. I turned my head away from the glare as it dimmed, catching the cardinal-colored locks and the blue tinted scales.

I nodded to Undyne. She flicked her hand out and gestured from me to join her. I glanced at the room first- a small-ish bedroom with two beds and many posters and other art pieces on the wall. Two beds dominated the walls opposite each other, one conquered by Undyne, another by a long, sleek figure; sleeping soundly.  Next to the dishelved beds was two bookcases, with all the books missing or spilling out from the unknown firgure's side. Clothes were scattered, even on hanging on hooks; I  recongized a worn red scarf, discarded on the floor.

White text promptly appeared at the top of my vision. I found I wasn't  surpised at all.

You grow and feel uneasy. Odd music played, some mixture of Gravity Falls or the Twilight Zone soundtrack.

A sense of foreboding flooded my chest. I could feel my heart pound in my ears, in my skull. Gingerly, I picked a path throughout the mess to Undyne, sneaking curious glances at the form. I saw the curve of his shoulders, the blanket bitting into his frame- but nothing more. His back was to me.

Then, the music paused, and fell into the background. I kept going.

As soon as I was close enough, Undyne wrapped her arms around me and lifted me onto the bed. Her golden eyes flashed with worry and she, too, looked at the mystery person. I noticed her eyepatch was completely gone, and her eyes were just fine. Despite this, I relaxed in her strong grip, attempting to ignore my thudding heartbeats.

"You're not Toriel." I teased, but the word escaped in a hoarse whisper.

The fish monster offered a strained smile. "Well, I am now." Suddenly, a serious frown pulled the corners of her mouth, and she breathed, "You know why I'm doing this."

I dipped my chin solemnly.  I leaned against her stomach, my eyes unable to leave the floor. My hands shook. "I had a bad dream, that's why." I told her in a firm, but quivering tone.

Undyne pushed the bridge of my nose, then let her finger slide down it. "Oh, yeah. That." It wasn't unkind, however. She was clearly distracted, though, for I peeked at her face; and saw her eyes flickering toward the firgure again, her ear fins pricked and listening.

I rubbed my fingers together, then against the soft fabric of her pajamas. It was cream white with pink fish designs. I smirked and struggled to shove a giggle down my throat.

"Hey!" Undyne spoke in mock-anger. "Laugh, and I'll throttle your neck."

That only unlocked the amusement from my throat, and it poured from me, high-pitched and breathless. Undyne pretended to growl. She pressed her fingers gently into my shoulders.

You laugh anyway. And I did, for a long while. The music contuined to swell into a crescendo of unusual sounds and of swirling wind. My laughter slowly died. Then, a groan shut off the music entirely.

I jumped, and my eyes immediately snapped to the other bed. The groan was painful and full of exhaustion, but there was a faint accent to it. A familiar one. I felt my soul plumment to my shoes.

He twisted in his blankets and straightened, his back in a awkward slouch as he rubbed the sleep from his eyesockets. He never slouches. I put a hand to my neck. Nothing was hanging there.

Papyrus is awake.

Undyne pulled me off her, but also kept me close. Abruptly, I became aware of a pitch-dipped rope attached to the empty bookcase next to him, cutting him off from the rest of the room. I followed the rope and discovered it was the same Christmas lights attached to the door knob. It flickered on, swinging even more violently, a waxen haze only making the shadows seem darker, and more complete.

I chance a gander at his face. I regretted it instantly. It was a expression brimming with anguish and rage, hus skull bleeding with heavy, pleading depression. I tried to come up with a joke, but there was none. And how dare I, trying to dismiss the mood with a single pun.

I was no better than Sans.

Undyne gritted her fangs, and directed a hardened comand to him. "Papyrus, go back to sleep. Sans is fine."

Papyrus' limbs tensed. I froze as a onslaught of his fury slammed into my tiny body.

"Just as tactless as ever." He countered in a slick tone, oozing sarcasm. Undyne stiffened.

Please, don't be mad at each other! I screamed into my mind. You guys are best friends!

Undyne seemed to have read my prayers. She calmed down, taking a deep inhale. "He really is fine, Papyrus, Toriel is taking care of him right now." She soothed.

Papyrus' bones crackled. I shivered.

"You don't know a thing about him." He muttered. "Nothing."

I wanted to move towards him, to comfort him, but Undyne shoved me down. Her hand bit into my bare arm. "I know a lot about him, Papyrus. He's handled worse."

"NO HE HASN'T!" Papyrus exploded. His eyesockets were wide, crazed.  I saw a chalky flare in the pools of blackness.

"You pretend to know him, but you don't! EITHER OF YOU DO!" He pointed a accusing finger at both of us. Undyne choked back a gargled gasp and hugged me closer.

The shadows reached his skull. He panted, and panted, while Undyne waited in antipation. Then, Papyrus lost his bluster. He collapsed on his bed. He started to tremble.

"It's all my fault that Sans is sick..." He sobbed. He buried his skull in his hands. "My fault..."

Undyne reached a hand out. "It's no where near your fault, Papyrus..."

The voices faded to the background. My head was filled with the sound of a gentle gale, blowing across rocks, and conducting the music to come back. It was soft, and wonderful music.

My vision swam. The white text materialized, now in a recognizable form; the text was in a bold Papyrus, and stated,

FINISH THE JOB.

Horror shot through me. The edges of my vision blurred and turned red. I heard twinkling laughter, much like my own.

QUEST FAILED: COMFORT PAPYRUS

NEW QUEST: KILL SANS

What did I do wrong. I wasn't sure if I said that out loud or not. All I was aware of was the carpet tickling my feet, my chubby hands reaching for the door, and the faint echoing sobs of Papyrus. I opened the door, the bulbs of light burning into my skin.

I had reached the halllway. I could imagine his face, fearful and feeble, under my wrath.

I was happy.
