UNDERSHROUD

Idea: Some of the original UNDERTALE characters have passed away.

Monsters: Most of them are weaker than normal. Except Asgore, Undyne, and Sans. Flowey is about the same.

Frisk's Role: Either put the monsters out of their misery, or to help them through their greif.

Flowey's Role: The same, except he is a lot more sympathetic to the grief-filled monsters, and sees you as the bad guy. He only absorbs the SOULS because he wants to kill you before you cause too much trouble. Since you also look so much like Chara, he wants to destroy you for that as well.

Toriel's Role: She is dead in this AU.

Napstablook's Role: They are dead in this AU.

Sans' Role: He's depressed by his brothers' death; a human that Papyrus just couldn't kill. Sans isolated himself, and took up the free spot in being the Royal Scientist. He told Asgore he was going to firgure out how to use HUMAN SOULS to bring the dead monsters back to life. He resides in Hotland, and keeps the Amalgamates a secret from everyone.

Papyrus' Role: He's dead in this AU.

Undyne's Role: She is enraged by Alphys' death; which was suicide, and she stomps around Snowdin, ready to kill the first human she sees. She is much stronger than usual in this AU. She believes she should act as the leader of monsters since Asgore seemed to have gone a bit crazy.

Alphys' Role: She's dead in this AU.

Mettaton's Role: He cannot accept Alphys' and Napstablook's death; which Blooky's death was a crazy monster attacking him. He moved to the now empty Ruins, refusing his star career to try and sort things out. He is sorta like Toriel in UNDERTALE, and gets attached to the human. Sadly, he has to let the human go and "achieve your dreams..."

Asgore's Role: He doesn't want to admit that Toriel is permanently dead; which was to accidently eating buttercups that Chara and Asriel fed her. Asgore tried to get Alphys to bring her back to life, but Alphys already had too much failures and she got pressured. She caused her own death by jumping down the Waterfall. Asgore roams this place, not wanting to accept that Alphys is dead because of him either. He seems to become slightly insane, muttering to echo flowers and giving tea parties to dummies. He tries to kill the human to use the SOUL to bring his wife and Alphys back to life.

Chara's Role: The same in regular UNDERTALE, but a lot more regretful and sympathetic. They wished they didn't leave Asriel like this and wished for their dad to smile again. They only want to destroy the human's for leading all the monsters to this grim life underground. They only wish to bring the miserable monster's lives to a close.

Gaster: He was the mysterious Royal Scientist before Alphys. While he was in power, he tried to conquer the concept of time. It resulted in him seeing a miserable future for the monsters. He turned insane, muttering and yelling that the monsters had no hope of things ever getting better. Some believe he killed himself. Some believe he died by falling into his creation. Some believe he was pushed.

Ruins: Denial
Snowdin: Anger
Waterfall: Bargaining
Hotland: Depression
Hallway/New Home: Acceptance

BARRIER: They call it the "Shroud", the grim name coming from all their hopelessness of ever getting out, despite needing but one more SOUL.
